Amazon reveals the most-asked questions and requests to its smart assistant in 2023 – from ‘Alexa, insult me’ to ‘Alexa, fart 17 times in a row’

And now Amazon has revealed the questions and requests that Britons asked Alexa the most in 2023 – including some rather weird and wonderful entries.

From ‘Alexa, how old is King Charles?’ to ‘Alexa, sing the national anthem’, many of the top requests were focused on the Coronation.

Elsewhere, ‘Barbenheimer’ fever saw Britons ask Amazon’s smart assistant ‘Alexa, what’s the Barbie movie about?’ and ‘Alexa, how long is the Oppenheimer movie?’

However, several other Britons opted for more unusual requests, including ‘Alexa, insult me,’ and ‘Alexa, fart 17 times’.

Amazon breaks the top requests down by category, including Sport, Height, Age, Recipes, and even Farts.

In terms of Sports requests, ‘Alexa, what’s the score?’ topped the list, followed by ‘Alexa, what’s the Liverpool score?’, ‘Alexa, who won the World Cup?’ and ‘Alexa, what’s the Man Utd score?’

The top searches for people’s heights were also very sport focused.

Lionel Messi’s height was the most questioned, followed by Erling Haaland, Tyson Fury, Tom Cruise, and Cristiano Ronaldo.

When it came to ages, Britons were most interested to find out how old Elton John is, while King Charles, Angela Rippon, and Lionel Richie’s ages were also of interest.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, billionaire Elon Musk was the person whose net worth piqued the highest interest, while nosy Britons also enquired about Paul McCartney, Prince Harry and Bill Gates’ net worths.

In the top spouses list, ‘Alexa, who is Jennifer Lopez married to?’ was the top search, followed by ‘Alexa, who is Taylor Swift married to?’, and ‘Alexa, who is Gordon Ramsay married to?’

Meanwhile, it seems like the UK is a nation of budding chefs, with several popular recipes searched for in 2023.

Elsewhere, ‘Barbenheimer’ fever saw Britons ask Amazon’s smart assistant ‘Alexa, what’s the Barbie movie about?’ and ‘Alexa, how long is the Oppenheimer movie?’

Surprise interactions

Yorkshire puddings topped the list, while Britons also asked Alexa for help with the recipes for cheese sauce, apple crumble, and hot-smoked salmon, lentil & pomegranate salad.

Venturing more into the weird and wonderful requests, Amazon says the top ‘Surprise Alexa Interactions’ were ‘Alexa, insult me’, ‘Alexa, say a rude word’, and ‘Alexa, do you like me?’

Our love of good old fashioned bathroom humour also seems to be thriving, with an entire ‘Fart’ category included by Amazon.

‘Alexa, rap about farts’, ‘Alexa, do a squeaky fart’, and ‘Alexa, fart seventeen times in a row’ were some of the top searches in this category.
