Alien face carved into Pluto discovered in NASA images – claim

Pluto is located on the edge of the solar system, more than 39 times farther out from the Sun than Earth is. As such, temperatures plunge to around -226 to -240 degrees Celsius, making it virtually inhospitable for life as we know it. However, some conspiracy theorists believe there are still extraterrestrials there after spotting what they believe to be a face carved into the rocks of the dwarf planet.

Prominent alien hunter Scott C Waring made the astonishing claim after analysing images from NASA.

Mr Waring believes an ancient civilisation carved a leader’s face into the surface, much like the four presidents of Mt Rushmore.

The alien enthusiast wrote on his blog UFO Sightings Daily: “These messages scream out We Existed! Just as Mount Rushmore National Memorial has the faces of four heroic US presidents carved into its rocky surface.

“Some will claim its pareidolia, which is seeing faces which aren’t there. I call that fake news.

“The CIA has been trying to spread this misinformation to confuse and control what the public thinks about.

“They have been successful at spreading it, but I cannot be controlled by them.

“So today I will show you a face I discovered on Planet Pluto. The actual face of aliens that once claimed that planet as their own and may still be living under the surface in underground cities.”

While the faces seen in Mr Waring’s pictures are likely a result of pareidolia, some scientists believe microbial life could exist in the subsurface oceans of Pluto.

Scientists believe radioactive decay deep in Pluto’s interior over millions of years after it first formed would have been warm enough to have kept oceans in liquid form.

Francis Nimmo, professor of Earth and planetary sciences at University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), said: “For a long time people have thought about the thermal evolution of Pluto and the ability of an ocean to survive to the present day.

“Now that we have images of Pluto’s surface from NASA’s New Horizons mission, we can compare what we see with the predictions of different thermal evolution models.

“How Pluto was put together in the first place matters a lot for its thermal evolution.

“If it builds up too slowly, the hot material at the surface radiates energy into space, but if it builds up fast enough the heat gets trapped inside.”

UCSC planetary scientist Carver Bierson added: “If it started cold and the ice melted internally, Pluto would have contracted and we should see compression features on its surface, whereas if it started hot it should have expanded as the ocean froze and we should see extension features on the surface.

“We see lots of evidence of expansion, but we don’t see any evidence of compression, so the observations are more consistent with Pluto starting with a liquid ocean.”

“Even in this cold environment so far from the sun, all these worlds might have formed fast and hot – with liquid oceans.

“By examining Pluto’s features today we can begin to understand its birth four and a half billion years ago.

“We are pretty sure water is one of the ingredients for life.”
