Will Mellor spray paints his head to ‘hide his bald patch’ ahead of Corrie stint

New Coronation Street star Will Mellor has a hair-raising secret – he spray paints his head to hide a bald patch.

Will and his Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps co-star pal Ralf Little were chatting about it on their podcast with Paddy McGuinness.

Ralf, 41, let the cat out of the bag when he revealed that “Will’s getting a bit of a sun roof appearing”.

He added: “He spray-painted the top of his f***ing head! He’s like Banksy on the top of his head is Will!”

And Will, 44, admitted he swears by the trick as he is thinning on top and doesn’t want to go for a hair transplant.

He said: “I’m not there yet, I’m going to cling on to this spray for a bit longer.

“F***ing don’t knock it, a bit of the old psst (spray noise) before you get out in the morning, it gives you extra bounce in your step.

“I think I’ll stick with the spray for now.”

Will is set to appear on Corrie from next month as a new villain, playing drug dealer Harvey whose gang becomes involved with teenager Simon Barlow.

Ralf added that fellow Street star Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs, was a good role model for hair ops.

He said: “Will, Alan Halsall from Corrie, he’s an old mate of both of ours and he’s had it. He told me.

“He was very happily like, ‘Oh yeah, I just went to someone and they did it for me for free if I just showed everyone the results.’

“He looks great. Will, ask him, you could get a freebie, there will be plenty that will do it for you.”

Top Gear presenter Paddy, 47, agreed that Will should think about following suit.

He said: “I think the thing with hair transplants is, and Will’s a prime candidate for this – you get it done when no one realises you need it. That’s when they work the best.

“If you’re totally bald and then you come into work the next day, you’ve got eight pubes on your head, people go ‘What’s that?’

“But if you’ve got a decent head of hair anyway and you’re going a little bit on top, because I know a few lads who’ve got a good head of hair who work in the business, I won’t say their names.

“And I was surprised they’d had a hair transplant, so you’d never question it. Their hair just looked really good.

“So I think if you are thinking about it, you’ve got to do it before you actually get to the full-on bald stage, do you know what I mean?

“You could get yours done Will and no one would have a clue. I’m telling you, that’s the time to have it done, when you don’t necessarily need it.”
