Vanessa Hudgens says she’s ‘traumatised’ after nudes were leaked multiple times

Vanessa Hudgens became one of the first celebs back in 2007 to have their privacy invaded after hackers targeted A-listers and leaked a series of their own nudes.

The 31-year-old rose to fame when she was just a teen as she starred in Disney's blockbuster trilogy High School Musical as Gabriella Montez.

For three films she gradually became more and more well known in Hollywood as she got to date Zac Efron on screen and also off-screen for another two years after the films ended.

The famous pair split and went their separate ways, with Vanessa making 21 movies since and most recently becoming a Netflix actress for the two Christmas films, The Princess Switch and The Knight Before Christmas.

But in 2007 the realities of fame hit Vanessa hard as hackers leaked nude photos she had taken of herself.

At the time, trolls blamed the former Disney star for taking the pics and instead of seeing her as the victim she was, she was blamed for them existing.

As Cosmopolitan UK's cover star for February, Vanessa opened up to the magazine about how the leaks have affected her ever since.

She told the publication: "It was a really traumatising thing for me. It’s really f****d up that people feel like they are entitled enough to share something that personal with the world.

"As an actor, you completely lose all grip of your own privacy and it’s really sad.

"It feels like that shouldn’t be the case, but unfortunately, if enough people are interested, they’re going to do everything they can to get to know as much about you as they can, which is flattering, I guess, but then people take it too far and end up divulging things that should be personal."

After the first leak, Vanessa fell victim to hackers leaking her nudes another two times in the space of three years.

Speaking on why she thinks it happened, she told Cosmo: "I think that is because there’s a disconnect when you see your favourite actress on the screen, and you see them now on your TV in your homes, and you can watch them whenever you want.

"There’s almost – I don’t want to say lack of respect because that sounds negative – but it just makes you feel like you know them even though you don’t."
