Tom Parker's widow Kelsey has revealed the heartbreaking moment she held her husband's hand as he died.

The Wanted singer Tom tragically passed away aged 33 following a battle with brain cancer, after being diagnosed with a stage 4 gliobasta in October 2020.

The pop star had been given just 12 months to live by doctors and died while surrounded by his family and fellow bandmates as they listened to the Oasis hit Live Forever.

Kelsey told The Sun on Sunday she was the last person by her husband's side and that it was "beautiful until the very end."

She said: "It was just love. There was so much love in that room and it was just us. It was me and him and it was just lovely.

“We had music playing in the room all day for him, it was his life and it was his passion. Live Forever by Oasis was playing. He was sedated and I was holding his hand.

“Everyone was at the hospice, all our family and friends, but it was just me with him in the room. We had that time together."

Tom's wife insisted the singer was in no pain as he passed and that she'd told their two-year-old daughter Aurelia she was going to ensure angels were looking after her father.

The star spent his last days at St Christopher's Hospice in South London, where Kelsey stayed with him throughout.

Kelsey opened up about the special time she spent with her husband before he died, which she described as "romantic".

She said: "I got into bed with him. We were in bed together for two hours, I just wanted that time with him. I didn’t want anyone coming in. We needed that time together to talk.

She explained that he "absolutely worshipped the ground I walked on", and that he was "still trying to figure a way out" of his illness a week after entering the hospice.

She went on: "I said, "You know Tom, I will be OK, the kids will be OK. I will make sure that everything you want them to know, the things that you’ve taught me over the years, I promise to teach them it all.

"He said, "I know you’re going to be OK." He then took off his wedding ring and put it on my finger."

Kelsey insisted Tom still had "fight" in him until the very end, and at his funeral she described him as her "soulmate".

Tom left behind their two children, Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, one.

The singer dazzled fans when he joined his Wanted bandmates on their recent tour – including Max George, Jay McGuinness, Siva Kaneswaran and Nathan Sykes.

Unfortunately, Tom's illness deteriorated after the tour, and Kelsey said his condition went "downhill" from there.

A funeral was held for Tom on April 20, which saw Champagne Supernova by Oasis played in the street as Tom's coffin was carried.
