Tom Hiddleston's starring in Betrayal – here's how to get tickets for the West End play

He might be best known as the MCU’s top trickster Loki (with a TV show on the way), but Tom Hiddleston also has a long list of acclaimed stage performances to his name.

As Tom’s international fame was rising thanks to his regular appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his short-lived romance with Taylor Swift and his well-received appearance in the BBC’s The Night Manager, he was racking up stage accolades too, including an Oliver Award nomination and an Evening Standard Theatre Awards win for his leading role in Coriolanus.

And now, he’s returning to the West End to star in Harold Pinter’s semi-autobiographical play Betrayal.

Tom Hiddleston in Betrayal – what’s the play actually about?

In Betrayal, Tom stars as Robert in the story of a seven-year affair told in reverse chronological order. Casting for Robert’s wife Emma and her lover Jerry – Robert’s best friend – is due to be announced soon.

Betrayal marks the conclusion of the Pinter at the Pinter season, a selection of Harold Pinter’s one-act plays which was commissioned to commemorate the 10th anniversary of his death in December 2008.

It’s attracted an all-star cast to the West End over the past few months, including David Suchet, Danny Dyer, Martin Freeman, Meera Syal, Tracy-Ann Oberman, John Simm, Russell Tovey, Gemma Whelan, Tamsin Greig, Celia Imrie and Lee Evans, plus rising stars including Paapa Essiedu (Kiri, Press), Jessica Barden (The End of the F***ing World) and Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead).

Betrayal is a masterpiece,” Tom said when the news was announced. “Jamie Lloyd’s Pinter at the Pinter season is terrific and I am so pleased that he’s asked me to be part of it.”
