Strictly’s Katie McGlynn wows with ‘amazing’ transformation before show launch

Strictly Come Dancing star Katie McGlynn has stunned fans and her celebrity pals with her "amazing" transformation.

The BBC One dance show will launch its 2021 series this weekend, with the Hollyoaks actress, 28, competing alongside stars including Loose Women's Judi Love and McFly singer Tom Fletcher.

Images of this year's celebrity contestants were shared by the BBC over the weekend and posting to Instagram on Sunday, Katie shared her own transformation reveal with her 315,000 followers.

The former Coronation Street star captioned the post: "Safe to say I've officially been 'Strictlyfied'.

Katie looks sensational in the image, which sees her hair brunette with caramel extensions.

Sporting a pair of strappy gold heels, she is wearing a beige net dress complete with a sparkling bronze bet.

Quick to praise Katie on her glam new look were her celebrity pals.

Former Coronation Street star and Strictly alum Catherine Tyledesley wrote: "This is Everything."

Emmerdale's Lucy Jo Hudson commented: "You look insane."

Hollyoaks actress Alex Fletcher replied: "Oh you look stunning. I love that dress !! You better be breaking them shoes in."

Fellow Strictly recruit Sara Davies responded: "That dress man….. you just look amazing."

Strictly pro Johannes Radebe remarked: "Isn't she lovely."

Katie's glow up comes as Strictly Come Dancing boss Sarah James recently revealed that new show rules will give hope to celebrities and dancers if they test positive for coronavirus.

They follow Nicola Adams and Katya Jones being booted off the show last year.

Confirming that a positive test would only require a 10 day isolation period this time aroun, as opposed to 14 days and automatic elimination last year, Sarah said: "It might be that they could miss a week and still get enough training in to return.

"So that is slightly better news than last year."

Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One this weekend.
