Shane MacGowan's wife has shared some heartwarming news on the Pogues singer after he was taken to hospital with a serious viral infection.
The Fairytale of New York singer, 65, was rushed to St Vincent's Hospital in Dublin after being diagnosed with viral encephalitis – a serious medical condition that can lead to brain swelling. After being diagnosed, Shane has been hospitalised a number of times when the disease has flared up.
He was last brought in for emergency treatment in June earlier this year, though wife Victoria May Clarke did not give specific reasons as to why he needed to be kept in. But in a new snap uploaded to social media, the pair were seen beaming into the camera, as Shane was happy to be back home with his beau.

Writing in the caption, Victoria beamed as she shared the news with fans. "Shane got out of the hospital!" she wrote.
Victoria continued: "We are deeply and eternally grateful to all of the doctors and nurses and staff at St Vincent’s it’s the best! And special thanks to Tom Creagh and Brian Corscadden for your help."
Shane's return home is the perfect festive gift for wife Victoria, who had been hoping that her husband would be well enough to come home in time for Christmas. In another pic uploaded for the rocker legend's fans last week, she wrote: "Shane is feeling much better today!
"I am so grateful to everyone who is willing him to get home for Christmas," she added. A number of music stars have been paying tribute to Shane, with Irish music legends including Imelda May and Daniel O'Donnell coming to visit him in the hospital as he bravely takes on his condition.
Wife Victoria thanked all those who had come to visit him and gave a "massive thanks" to everyone flooding the singer with love and support. The pair officially tied the knot in Copenhagen back in 2018 after being together for decades.
She recently opened up on facing her "terrifying fears of loss" in a heartfelt moment that she shared with Shane's loyal fans. Taking to social media she admitted she was scared to lose her husband, saying: "Love is the most beautiful and powerful thing that we can experience as humans but love can also feel painful especially if you are afraid of losing a person or anything else that you love."
