Scooter Braun Wishes Justin Bieber Happy 25th Birthday with Throwback Photo: 'I Love You'

Scooter Braun marked Justin Bieber‘s 25th birthday with an adorable Instagram post.

On Friday, the mega-manager — who discovered the pop star when he was just 12 years old — posted a throwback photo from their early days together.

“Our first pic and now you are 25. My day 1. You know exactly what it is and how I feel. I love you,” Braun, 37, captioned the black-and-white image. “Happy birthday you grown ass man. Proud of you.”

When Bieber was 12 years old, he won a local talent show in which he sang Ne-Yo’s “So Sick.” His mom, Pattie Mallette, posted a video of the performance on YouTube, and the clip caught Braun’s attention.

Braun reached out to Mallette, and he and pal Usher soon after signed him their management company. And by September 2008, Braun had landed Bieber a recording contract with legendary music exec L.A. Reid. In the years since, Bieber has released four smash albums and become one of the biggest acts in pop history.

As Bieber begins another year, he’s focusing on his mental health — and his marriage. The singer, who secretly wed model Hailey Baldwin, 22, in September, has recently been seeking treatment for depression.

“He’s in a really good place,” a Bieber spiritual source tells PEOPLE. “He’s got all the money he will ever need, and he’s starting to really center himself and focus on his future… Therapy has helped empower him: he’s focusing on the positives, not the negatives. He knows that he’s beginning a new life.”
