Saturday Night singer Whigfield pulls out of show after needing ’emergency MRI’

Nineties pop star Whigfield has revealed she has underwent a biopsy on Tuesday amid an ongoing health concern.

The singer, who shot to fame with her number one hit Saturday Night in 1994, took to her Instagram to announce the news to her 51,000 followers.

The star shared a selfie with her trademark blonde hair in pigtails as she sat in a hospital waiting room wearing a face mask.

She captioned the picture: "Back at the hospital for a biopsy. Hopefully all this will be over soon. Have a great day everyone and wish me luck."

Fans were quick to wish the star, whose real name is Sannie Charlotte Carlson, well, with one writing: "Good luck beautiful sending lots of prayers, hugs and kisses xxxxxx."

Another commented: "Much love gorgeous and hope all will be ok xx."

A third added: "May God help you to get rid of the problems faster and successfully ! Wishing you a lovely evening!"

And fellow nineties legends East 17 said: "Good Luck Sannie, we hope you are alright and we will see you soon. Much love."

The Dane was forced to cancel an appearance earlier this month at Odense's Oktober Festival in her native country, meanwhile, after requiring an emergency MRI scan.

At the time she said: "Hey guys, unfortunately I won't be able to perform at tonight's Oktober Festival in Odense DK.

"Those who follow me know that I haven't really been feeling 100 per cent lately and been doing various checkups.

"Unfortunately I've been booked for an emergency MRI scan tomorrow and because of logistics, it would be impossible to do both.

"This is a first for me to miss a gig and I'm truly sorry for the guys in Odense and thanks for the help @international.artists.holland Hope you're going to have a fantastic night and hope to see you soon."
