Piers Morgan sparks petition to sack host from GMB after Meghan Markle rants

Piers Morgan has sparked a petition to have the host sacked over his views about Meghan Markle.

The 55-year-old controversial television presenter has mocked those who are campaigning to have him removed from Good Morning Britain.

Morgan took to Twitter to insist there are "various petitions still doing the rounds" from previous failed attempts to fire him.

The GMB host shared a tweet with his 7.7million followers.

He wrote: "Lots of people on here want me fired for expressing my opinion on the Pinocchio Princess.

"If you want to join them, there are various petitions still doing the rounds from the last few times you've all tried, and failed, to have me fired for saying what I think."

Piers has been branded "obsessed" with Meghan and Harry by many, including his GMB co-star Susanna Reid.

He's also been branded one of Meghan Markle's "biggest trolls" on social media.

Journalist Ayesha Hazarika recently claimed Piers Morgan is Meghan Markle's 'biggest troll' as he continues to slam her on social media.

When speaking about the bullying claims Meghan received from former Buckingham Palace staff, Ayesha said: "No one has any sympathy for her and no offence to your colleague who is not here, Piers Morgan, but he's one of the biggest trolls against her… she's literally responsible for everything."

Trisha Goddard told Piers Morgan she was "saddened" by his comments about Meghan Markle.

Speaking about the Oprah interview, Piers didn’t hold back as he declared he didn’t believe a word the duchess had said during the chat.

Trisha took the TV host down live on air as she said his comments about Meghan 'saddened' her.

"If you tried to invent a show that had all this, you'd reject it as being too outlandish," Piers began, as Susanna offered a comparison to The Crown.

"Honestly, I wouldn’t," Trisha said firmly. "The name of the show would be 'bullying', Piers and I’m afraid you’d be the star."

Piers shot back: "Really? Not Meghan Markle who drove out the female staff with her bullying, or does that not count?"

"Piers, listening to you this morning I’m saddened," said Trisha. "You know what I wish for you? I wish for you only really wonderful things.

"I hope that one of your sons meets a beautiful black woman and gets married to them and you will understand."

Piers replied: "Actually I would love that. Why would I have a problem with that? Why does every criticism of these two have to be framed as racism?

"I’d also like to have her bullying investigated. The bullying that no one seems to want to take seriously," he said once more, which led to a reminder from Susanna that Buckingham Palace are already investigating the allegations from members of Meghan’s household staff in 2018.

As the presenter asked whether it would be racism in any context of that conversation, Trisha shared her thoughts in reference to her own experiences of racism.

"It only takes one straw to break the camel’s back and what gets me is why everybody else is such an expert about racism against black people," Trisha replied.

She continued: "I’m sorry Piers. You don’t get to call out what is and isn’t racism against black people. You can call out all the other stuff, I’ll leave you to call out all the other stuff you want but leave the racism to us, eh?"

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
