Phillip Schofield has been axed by The Prince's Trust after admitting to having an affair with a "younger male colleague".

The 61-year-old cut all times with ITV last week and also dropped by his agents, YMU.

It has now been confirmed that The Price's Trust have to stopped working with him.

In a statement shared with The Sun, a spokesperson said: "In light of Phillip’s recent admissions, we have agreed with him that it is no longer appropriate to work together.”

It's a fresh blow for Phillip after he stepped down as This Morning host earlier this month.

In his statement, he said he was "deeply sorry" for lying about the relationship to ITV, his colleagues, friends and agents.

He said: "I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning.

"Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship.

"That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over."

Phillip has also defended This Morning against claims of "toxicity", saying those speaking out have a "grudge" against him or the ITV show.

Since his exit, a number of people spoke out against ITV and Phil's behaviour, with words such as "toxic" and "bully" used.

He has released another statement, defending the show he worked on for more than 20 years.

Phillip said on Instagram: "Now I no longer work on This Morning I am free to say this.

"I hope you have noticed that it's the same handful of people with a grudge against me or the show who seem to have the loudest voice.

"This Morning is the best show to work on, with the best people.

"In all the years I worked there there was no toxicity.

"You can listen to those persistently loud voices if you like.

"But the thousands of guests over the years, thousands of staff and crew, hundreds of presenters and contributors all know, it is a family of wonderful, talented, kind, hard working people."

One person who spoke out over the weekend was Dr Ranj Singh, who first worked on the show in 2016 until he left last year.

He said that during his time, he "grew increasingly worried about how things were behind-the-scenes and how people, including [himself] were being treated".

Dr Ranj claimed he shared his concerns but then found he was "being used less and less".
