Pamela Anderson brands Hulu bosses behind Pam and Tommy series ‘a**holes’

Pamela Anderson has lashed out at the creators of Hulu series Pam And Tommy over their depiction of her story branding them "a**holes."

The former Baywatch star opened up about her feelings on the hit series that focussed on the ripple effect of the theft and distribution of a homemade sex tape of her and her husband at the time Tommy Lee on their honeymoon.

Pamela, 55, was allegedly never asked if she was OK with the creation of the series which also shone a light on some of the complexities of her relationship with Tommy.

Ironically the heavily male production team – led by Hollywood star Seth Rogen – also shared insight into the derogatory way Pamela was treated in show business as an attractive young woman in the 90s.

Pamela is now hoping to tell her story for herself with a new Netflix documentary and a memoir which sees her share stories from her life covering everything from sexual abuse to bearing the brunt of people mocking the tragedy in her life and in a new chat with Variety gave her take on Seth's creation.

The Netflix series – Pamela, A Love Story – is directed by Ryan White and produced by Pamela and Tommy's son Brandon Thomas Lee, 26.

While she was disappointed with her portrayal in Pam And Tommy, Pamela says she has no hard feelings against Lily James who played her in the show, and even asked Netflix to invite her to the premiere of the documentary.

She explained: “I think it’s hard to play somebody when you don’t know the whole picture. I’ve got nothing against Lily James. I think that she’s a beautiful girl and she was just doing the job. But the idea of the whole thing happening was just really crushing for me.”

However, Pamela's understanding attitude doesn't extend to the show creators and when asked to describe them she simply stated they were "a**holes."

She elaborated that they had put "salt on the wound" and "still owe me a public apology."

While Pamela hasn't watched the series she did admit to seeing billboards emblazoned with Lily and Sebastian Stan dressed as her and Tommy, saying “it just looked like a Halloween costume to me.”

Pamela, A Love Story is out on Netflix on January 31.
