Ozzy Osbourne tour 2020 CANCELLED: Star pulls out of North American gigs amid Parkinson’s

Ozzy Osbourne, 71, told fans he didn’t want to embark on the North American leg of his No More Tours tour and then later have to cancel shows at the last minute due to health woes. The rockstar, who is living with Parkinson’s disease and suffered a fall at his home last month while recovering from pneumonia and aggravated an old back injury, causing him to need surgery on his neck, thanked fans for their patience in a statement.

“I’m so thankful that everyone has been patient because I’ve had a s**t year,” he admitted. “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to Switzerland for treatment until April and the treatment takes six-eight weeks.

“I don’t want to start a tour and then cancel shows at the last minute, as it’s just not fair to the fans,” Osbourne continued.

“I’d rather they get a refund now and when I do the North American tour down the road, everyone who bought a ticket for these shows will be the first ones in line to purchase tickets at that time.”

Fans who purchased tickets for the cancelled tour dates can get refunds at the original point of purchase.

Osbourne was due to kick off the North American tour at the end of May.

He has cancelled 28 concerts across the US.

The cancellation follows the news Osbourne is living with Parkinson’s disease.

The former Black Sabbath rocker went public with his diagnosis last month, telling Good Morning America: “It’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body.

“It’s like, you have a good day, a good day and then a really bad day.”

Osbourne said he has been sugaring from a number of symptoms which may or may not be related to Parkinson’s.

After undergoing neck surgery following a fall, he said he had a “numbness” in one arm and that his legs “keep going cold”.

At the time, his wife Sharon Osbourne said they were going to be seeing a professor in Switzerland who helps people distinguish causes of different symptoms.

“We’re going to go wherever we can go to seek answers,” she said.

In the weeks since, Osbourne told the Los Angeles Times he was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2003.

“I’m not dying from Parkinson’s,” he said. “I’ve been working with it most of my life. I’ve cheated death so many times.

“If tomorrow you read, ‘Ozzy Osbourne never woke up this morning,’ you wouldn’t go, ‘Oh, my God!’ You’d go, ‘Well, it finally caught up with him,’” he added.

The rockstar revealed he is taking medication to help with the tremors caused by Parkinson’s.

He admitted he felt “guilty” hiding his Parkinson’s diagnosis from people for many years.

“I’m no good with secrets,” he said. “I cannot walk around with it anymore. It’s like I’m running out of excuses.

“I feel better now that I have owned up to the fact that I have a case of Parkinson’s.”
