Love Island star Gemma Owen's mum Louise Bonsall has been a hot talking point and fans of the show are eager to know more about her.

On a recent episode of the ITV dating show, Gemma's ex-boyfriend Jacques O'Neil indicated that he had fancied her mum while they were dating.

The rugby league star, who dated Michael Owen's daughter when she was 17, made the shocking confession during a steamy game of Never Have I Ever.

Taking a swig of his drink, the Castleford Tigers star hinted that he had once been attracted to a mum of one of his former girlfriends.

Gemma was keen to ask her ex-boyfriend if it had been her mum that had caught his attention but instead of getting a reaction, she scoffed at him furiously and rolled her eyes.

Jacques kept his cards close to his chest as he responded with a cheeky a smile

Since the racy game, Love Island fans in their masses have been eager to know more about Gemma's hot mum Louise.

And, Daily Star is on-hand to serve up all the information regarding Michael Owen's stunning wife.

Who is Louise Bonsall?

Louise is the wife and childhood sweetheart of former Liverpool star Michael Owen and mother to Love Island star Gemma, son James, 16, and daughters Emily, 14, and Jessica, 12.

While Gemma and her mum share a very close bond, they also have one common interest at the centre of their hearts – horses.

Michael's better half is a keen equestrian and has rescued many retired racehorses over the years and even founded her Cheshire Manor House Stables in 2007.

Louise and Michael's relationship

Louise and Michael met when they were just children – first laying eyes on each in 1984 at primary school during their time spent at Hawarden High School in Flintshire, Wales.

20 years later, the loved-up twosome decided it was time to make their romance official and tied the knot in a intimate ceremony in Chester.

The pair have been happily married for 18 years and share four children together.

Tragic horse riding accident

In 2004, the same year of her wedding to the ex-England striker Louise suffered a catastrophic accident that caused her to break her back in two places.

Louise had been riding a pony named Isobelle when the animal suddenly became startled – with Louise being thrown off in the process.

As the horse reared up, she landed on top of Louise causing her to painfully injure her back and shatter her pelvis in five different places.

After the horrifying accident, Louise gave up horse riding and instead ploughed her energies into rehabilitating unwanted racehorses instead.

Gemma's close bond with her mum

There is no question that Louise and her daughter Gemma share an incredibly close relationship.

Just a few weeks ago, horse lover Gemma celebrated her 19th birthday and mum Louise was on-hand to gush praises over her eldest child.

Uploading a montage of happy snaps and memories, Louise captioned: "Happy 19th birthday to this beautiful queen.

She added: "No words can describe how proud I am of you and what exciting times ahead for you."

Michael Owen became jealous of Louise's relationship with Gemma

In 2020 Michael Owen confessed in his hotly anticipated autobiography, Reboot, that he'd had to seek out professional help after he'd grown "jealous" of his wife's close bond with their eldest daughter.

Things became so bad for the childhood sweethearts that Michael even accused Louise of spending more time with Gemma over their other children – something he now knows simply wasn't true.

Speaking about his battle with his inner demons, he penned: "To my surprise, I found myself standing at a figurative cliff edge in 2014. A lifetime of that certain type of mentality, of behaviour, had led me to a point where I had to seek professional help…

"For years, because of my own inner demons, I was intentionally really hard on Louise about subjects that I knew would push her buttons most — not least her close relationship with our daughter Gemma."

He added: "Let me be very clear and say that none of this was in any way a reflection on how I felt about either Gemma or Louise. I love them both with all of me.

"I'd take everything out on Louise, though. I'd accuse her of spending all her time with her eldest and ignoring the other kids. It wasn’t even true."
