Cardi B is reportedly going to release a new song featuring her nemesis’ ex-boyfriend Meek Mill, and now a new detail about the upcoming song has surfaced. According to a new report, the track will be a diss song aimed at Nicki Minaj.
A Twitter user named Adam Grandmaison first broke the news. Replying to a tweet about the rumored collaborative track, he wrote, “I asked if the song felt like a nicki diss and the person just said ‘the fact that the song exists is a nicki diss’ read into that as you must.”
Should the report be true, there is a possibility that the song has been tweaked in any way to diss the Trinidadian beauty. Previous report stated that Cardi and Meek recorded the song a few months before the two femcees’ infamous altercation during New York Fashion Week. Sources told TMZ that the song had a potential to be a massive hit.
The title and release date of the upcoming collaboration remains unknown, but it is likely will serve as the lead single off Meek’s forthcoming album. The Philadephia native teased the album when he attended the 2018 Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event in New York City last week, saying that the much-anticipated album would hit the stores sometime this month.
“My album coming soon,” he said on the event’s red carpet. “It’s coming real soon, like in a matter of weeks, to be truthful. Yeah, it’s on the way.” Meek didn’t share further details though, given the fact that he wanted to surprise release the album.
Prior to this, he revealed that one of the songs off the album is about Colin Kaepernick, who protested against racial injustice in the U.S. by kneeling on one knee when the national anthem was being played before the start of a NFL game. The song includes lyrics such as, “They told Kap to stand up if you want to play for a team, and most of his teammates said the same thing.”
