The son of celebrity chef Marco Pierre White has been jailed for 18 months following a spree of crimes including theft and racially abusing a Tesco security guard.

Marco, who hails from Corsham in Wiltshire and has been struggling with heroin abuse since the age of 18, was today banged up for more than 18 months at Bristol Crown Court.

The court heard how he stole clothes worth £2,496 from posh equestrian shop Wadswick Country Store, racially abused a Tesco Express security guard and shoplifted spirits from a branch of Waitrose.

He also nicked a Mulberry credit card holder, Co-op dishwasher tablets, Raybans, and booze from a newsagents, and repeatedly flouted a suspended sentence order.

The court was told he had a privileged start in life and a good upbringing with his family.

Ieuan Callaghan, prosecuting, said Pierre White Jr was with an unknown female when he stole £2,496 worth of clothes from Wadswick Country Store. Police later found him in Bath, counting money in a car, minus the clothes.

Judge Mark Horton said: 'It is addiction that causes intelligent people, from good backgrounds, who had every prospect, to cheat, lie and steal on a regular basis with a complete incapacity to stop doing so.'

The heavily tattooed reality star appeared on the 2016 edition of Celebrity Big Brother but was evicted after just one week.

Four days after his exit, he appeared in magistrates court to answer a drug driving charge from April 2016, when he was reportedly stopped in a grey BMW X5 in Hammersmith with more than 200 microgrammes of cocaine in his blood.

In 2018, he announced he was attending AA meetings and has since attended rehab for alcohol addiction. He later claimed he had been sober 'for a year and a half'.

Marco’s lawyer has said her client was “terrified” of going back to prison having become a target during a previous stint in the slammer.

Catherine Flint, mitigating, told Bristol Crown Court: “His dad is well-known and known to be wealthy. He [Pierre White Jr] has suffered bullying, intimidation, extortion, threats of violence and actual violence.

'He is finding it incredibly difficult in prison. He is terrified at the thought of ever having to go back.”
