Love Island star Caroline Flack found dead

Love Island star Caroline Flack has been found dead.

The 40-year-old is thought to have been discovered earlier this week.

The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Caroline’s death comes a month before she was due to appear in court on an assault charge.

During an appearance at Highbury and Islington's magistrates court on December 23, Caroline pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault by beating.

District Judge Newton gave Caroline conditional bail and she was due to stand trial on March 4..

Caroline started her career as an actress, starring in Bo’ Selecta! in 2002 and then went on to present various ITV2 spin-off shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The TV star also won the twelfth series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and in the following year she began presenting the first-ever series of Love Island and continued to do so for the next five seasons.

Caroline shared a number of smiley photos on her social media accounts earlier this week.

The former Love Island host posted a collage of snaps with her dog Ruby as her first Instagram post of the year.

The series of pictures showed Caroline cuddling her pooch wearing a skimpy top and bright red lipstick.

Her boyfriend Lewis also reached out to Caroline yesterday on his Instagram account to wish her a happy Valentines Day.

Taking to his Instagram stories, he shared a photo of the two of them as well as the words: "Happy Valentine's. Love you," and a kissing face emoji.

The couple were banned by the court from seeing each other since December, when District Judge Julia Newston refused to remove bail conditions, which prevented Caroline from contacting Lewis.

She was not allowed to contact him directly, indirectly or visit his home after she was charged with assault.

Caroline's defence Paul Morris argued that the conditions should be lifted.

He told Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court: "They had been in a relationship all of this year and he appears in court today to support her and they remain a couple.

"She wants to spend time with her partner. If the conditions were lifted there would be no concerns.

"It's not an irrelevant point, it's Christmas, it's New Year, she's suffered enough.

"She's in the public eye – this case has been scrutinised, she will conduct herself properly."

The application to remove the bail conditions was denied and Caroline, 40, and Lewis, 27, left the court separately.

Caroline's trial was expected to start on March 4, 2020 at the same court.
