Liam Gallagher questioned by police about "incident consistent with assault"

Ex-Oasis star Liam Gallagher has been questioned by London police over allegations of “assault”.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that it was made aware of security footage of Gallagher apparently involved in a physical confrontation with a woman back in August.

In response, officers questioned Gallagher about an “incident consistent with assault” at a London restaurant on Tuesday, September 25. Gallagher previously denied all allegations of assault at the time.

A spokesperson told the publication: “Officers are aware of footage of an incident consistent with assault believed to have taken place in August 2018 at a licensed venue in Chiltern Street, Marylebone.

“The footage has been assessed and inquiries will be made into the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident. No specific allegations have been received at this time.”

Police confirmed that no arrests have been made at this stage. Digital Spy has reached out to a representative for Liam Gallagher for comment about this situation.

Prior to this alleged incident, Liam had most recently made headlines for announcing over the summer that he’d forgiven estranged brother Noel and expressed hopes of a reunion of their former band Oasis.

“Earth to noel, listen up rkid, I hear your (sic) doing gigs where people can’t drink alcohol now that’s the BeZarist thing you’ve done yet,” he tweeted in July. “I forgive you now let’s get the BIG O back together and stop f**king about the drinks are on me LG x.
