AceShowbiz –Kelly Clarkson has released the music video for her latest song “Broken & Beautiful”, which serves as the soundtrack for upcoming animated movie “UglyDolls“. Making its way out on Thursday, April 26, the visuals includes an adorable appearance from her daughter, River Rose.
The almost-four-minute clip sees the “American Idol” alum getting ready backstage as her 4-year-old daughter tries on a headband and does her mom’s makeup. “I never held my hand out and asked for something free,” Kelly belts out the track. “I got pride I could roll out for miles in front of me/ I don’t need your help and I don’t need your sympathy/ I don’t need you to lower the bar for me.”
Characters from the animated movie also make an appearance in the music video, trying to run away from a security guard as they force their way into the venue where Kelly is set to perform. The characters and Kelly eventually meet up on stage, along with an animated version of Marshmello who is seen DJ-ing.
“Broken & Beautiful” was co-written by Pink along with Johnny McDaid and Steve Mac, the latter of whom also produced the track with Marshmello. Kelly is scheduled to perform the track at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards on May 1, while the soundtrack album of “UglyDolls” hit the stores on Friday, April 26.
Besides lending her voice to the soundtrack of the movie, Kelly also stars in the forthcoming picture. “The Voice” judge takes on the role of Moxy, who leads her friends as they travel to the other side of the mountain where Uglyville nestles and finds the town of Perfection, a place where everyone is perfect.
Also starring Nick Jonas, Janelle Monae, Blake Shelton and Pitbull among others, “UglyDolls” is set for a May 3 release in the United States.
