James Arthur 'devastated' as he's forced to cancel Teenage Cancer Trust gig

Concluding his statement, the Impossible hitmaker added: ‘I promise I will make it up to you and I’m looking to get help for this.’

Rushing to his side, the charity sent their best wishes to James as they replied: ‘We are so sorry that you are unable to join us tonight for our #TeenageCancerGigs. We all send our thoughts and best wishes.’

The Royal Albert Hall added: ‘Seconded. Sending you love and strength from all of us here James.’

Fans appeared to be in full support of his decision, as they told the star to take as much time as he needs.

‘Chin up lad. Nothing more important than our health,’ one insisted, while another said: ‘Oh james, everyone will understand.

‘Just do what you need to do to get yourself better. Sending hugs. It’s ok not to be ok, even superstars like you need time out. Your JArmy is always behind you.’

Just last year, James revealed how he believes celebrities are responsible for discussing their mental health.

Chatting on Lorraine, he confessed: ‘I think people in the spotlight have a huge responsibility to talk about these things.

‘I remember when I was really badly suffering with anxiety and depression, internalising all of that was the catalyst amongst all that. It led to lot of bad decisions in my life.’

‘The best medicine is to speak about these things,’ he continued. ‘If those of us in the spotlight can encourage that, I think it’s a great thing.’
