Internet Hilariously Thanks Myspace for Losing 12 Years Worth of Music

AceShowbiz -To those who uploaded content on Myspace from 2003 to 2015, there’s a big chance your files had long been gone. The social media site, which was one a leading music-sharing platform on the internet, just issued a statement that every thing that was uploaded before 2016 was lost in response to user inquiries last year. This includes over 50 million songs.

“As a result of a server migration project, any photos, videos and audio files you uploaded more than three years ago may no longer be available on or from Myspace,” so the statement said. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”

While the news might be heartbreaking, many internet users didn’t think so. Instead, they were relieved because every embarrassing music that they posted on the site would not be found out by others. “damn myspace just saved many people from the embarrassment of having their middle school ska band dug up,” one user said. “Thank u tom because I sure as hell do not remember that password.”

“This MySpace migration mishap is amazing. Thank you lord. I don’t want to hear the music I made when I was 13,” another said as one other wrote, “Happy to hear myspace lost all of the extremely bad music I posted there as a twenty something. I had been meaning to delete it myself but they have done the work for me. Thank you.”

There was also someone who wrote, “Dear MySpace: Thank You! Sincerely, My Emo-Phase.” One individual said, “Myspace accidentally deleted all its music lmaoooo. Great news if you were in a terrible band in high school and cant remember your login to delete it.”

However, not all people were joyful about this revelation. Steven Battelle, the former lead vocalist of British rock band LostAlone, expressed his sadness over the news. “This makes me really sad, so much of the start of my band came from the exposure and community Mspace had,” he said. “I still think it was the best platform for artists/bands. Just music and people who loved the music commenting on it.”
