Tweeting a link to Diana Ross’s disco hit ‘I’m Coming Out’, Ruby wrote: “Me to my parents today. Feeling lucky and joyful and f r e e. over and Out.”

She also hit back at the “misogynists” who had accused her of flirting with peacocking manchild Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood to reach the final of the show, adding: “p.s. for those who thought I fancied Paul Hollywood or that I’d ever bang him to get ahead – Joke’s on you, you massive sh***ing misogynists.”

Speaking about her relationship with Leah, she previously told Grazia magazine: “Before we met, I spent a lot of time by myself. It’s surprised me how easily I’ve found room for someone else in what I thought was an insular life.

“We’re in it for the long term. I’m not even worried I’m jinxing it by saying that.”

Since Bake Off, Ruby has published two cookbooks and formerly wrote a food column for The Guardian.
