Donald Trump Responds Taylor Swift Politics, President Disses Singer

Taylor Swift, a celebrity who’s known for keeping her mouth shut when it comes to anything politically driven, received TONS of praise yesterday after she finally broke her silence about politics and publicly denounced Tennessee Republican Senate candidate Marsha Blackburn. While Swifties were totally here for her powerful message, President Donald Trump, a Republican, was not.

When the United States Commander-in-chief was asked to respond to Tay’s post, he said Blackburn “is doing a very good job in Tennessee” and then proceeded to diss the “Delicate” crooner hardcore.

“I’m sure Taylor Swift does nothing, or doesn’t know anything about her,” the President told reporters. “Let’s say that I like Taylor’s music about 25% less now, okay?”

While we’re sure the orange-skinned man thinks T.Swift’s Insta post won’t impact the Midterm Elections, numbers tell a different story.

“We are up to 65,000 registrations in a single 24-hour period since T. Swift’s post,” Kamari Guthrie, director of communications for Vote.org, tells Buzzfeed News.

In her home state of Tennessee, the number of people registering to vote also jumped tremendously. Of the 5,183 people that registered so far this month, 2,144 came in the past 36 hours. To put this in context, the entire month of September only saw 2,811 new Tennessee voter registrations and August saw 951.

You know what they say, Mr. President — if a man talks sh*t, then I owe him nothing.
