Cheryl says it'll be "time to move on" from music career if comeback doesn't go well

Cheryl has just made her musical comeback after taking some time out following the birth of her son Bear but the singer has revealed that her attitude to work has changed dramatically in the years she’s been away.

The former X Factor judge has said that she is no longer too bothered about her music hitting the top of the charts, but admits that if her new material doesn’t do well enough, it may mean a change in direction for her.

Speaking about her new single ‘Love Made Me Do It’ – her first in three years – Cheryl told The Guardian that she’s not going to jump around searching for success if something isn’t working.

“If [the single] goes in at 80, it’s time for me to move on with my life,” she said. “I’m not going to jump around working hard and spending time away from my son for that.

“Is the juice worth the squeeze?”

The singer continued to reveal that she’s completely fine if she doesn’t become a chart topper again, adding: “Is it bad if I say that if I get another No 1 that’s great, and if I don’t that’s fine?”

She also went on to stress that these days she’s a lot more determined to make sure she’s only doing what makes her happy.

“The bottom line now is this: if I’m not happy with something, and I’m not comfortable, I’m not f**king doing it,” she added.

Cheryl recently denied that her new track calls out her ex Liam Payne, with fans questioning the lyric “I’m such a sucker I fall in love with every f**ker”.

Cheryl has insisted that the lyric isn’t about anyone in particular, saying: “Actually all the music and all the songs that I’ve got ready were done way before we split – none of them are about anybody.

“It’s not about one specific person or relationship. It’s more about me being the lover of love that I am. I just love love!”

Cheryl is currently gearing up for her first live performance in four years as she is going to be performing at Manchester’s Hits Radio Live on November 25, alongside Little Mix, Zara Larsson, The Vamps, Ellie Goulding and more.

Before that though, she’ll be performing on The X Factor tonight (November 18), which kicks off on ITV at 8pm.
