BTS embarks on their ‘Map of the Soul’ tour during 2020
Dust off your army bombs and break out the BT21 headband. This k-pop group released their latest album, Map of the Soul: 7, during February 2020. Now, fans are looking to the future, planning for the day when they can see their idols up close.
In true BTS fashion, the group is celebrating their new album with live performances across the world, dotted with shades of blue and purple. Tickets for the Map of the Soul tour went on sale earlier in 2020. Within a matter of minutes, “VIP packages” sold out at select venues. Some fans expect this to be the biggest and best BTS tour to date.
RM and the other BTS members shared their excitement for upcoming performances
With tour dates quickly approaching, fans shared their excitement on social media. Some members even shared their excitement for the Map of the Soul tour, saying what fans can expect with their upcoming live shows.
“Since it’s like a really massive performance, we need a different feel, a normal stage can’t stand all the dancers and the marching band,” RM said during an interview with radio.com. “Yeah. When you see it you’ll get surprised. All the band, the dancers moving, just the way we’re doing – so, it’s just like, mind-blowing.”
Will the ‘Map of the Soul’ tour be impacted by coronavirus?
There’s still no word regarding if BTS will cancel other dates along their Map of the Soul tour. Big Hit Entertainment, BTS’ management company, canceled the dates in South Korea due to the coronavirus surge in the country. During one V Live, RM shared his thoughts regarding the canceled tour dates and the press tour, which was also impacted by the spreading illness.
“I can say this now after finishing our promotion. Throughout the promotion I felt powerless,” RM said according to an English translation. “Of course, fans liked our new song, but we couldn’t see our fans in front of us. But we said to ourselves like a spell ‘We can’t lose our strength. We should be happy. We have to smile.’”
Presumably, an update regarding future tour dates will be provided in the coming weeks. As of March 15, BTS is still set to embark on their Map of the Soul world tour, which continues until summer 2020. Still, some fans took to social media, emphasizing that the boys’ health and wellness is their top priority.
