BLACKPINK Drives Fans Wild With U.S. TV Debut and Tour Announcement

AceShowbizBLACKPINK successfully caused fans frenzy when they appeared on U.S. television for the first time in the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 12. Stopping by “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert“, the South Korean sweethearts performed their smash hit “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, which became their first track to chart on Billboard’s Hot 100.

While the show was airing, the hashtag “BLACKPINKonLSCC” was trending worldwide on Twitter. The late night show’s official Twitter account even jokingly declared that it had become “a BLACKPINK stan account.”

“The fact that BLACKPINK was announced as ‘wildly popular kpop group’ on their first american television performance… power,” one other tweeted. “I’M CRYING RN. I AM REALLY PROUD OF MY GIRLS,” one fan said.

Following their performance on the Stephen Colbert-hosted show, BLACKPINK made an appearance on “Good Morning America” to perform the same song and talked about their upcoming North American tour. “It’s happening and we’re starting in April, and we’re very, very excited for it,” said member Jennie. “It’s finally happening.”

The group also sat down with Michael Strahan and Sarah Haines for a longer interview on “Strahan and Sarah“, which will air on Friday, February 15. In addition to the interview, BLACKPINK belted out their song “Forever Young”.
