Billie Eilish’s first album was incredibly popular, winning her awards all over the world. Since then, she has teased lots of new music, including a new album and a new single. Most recently she said a new song would be dropping pretty soon – but what is it and when is it out?
What is Billie Eilish’s new song?
Sadly that information is unknown at present, as Billie has released very little information on it.
However, she has revealed when the new song will be out, and some information on the ‘vibe’ of the song.
Asked in an Instagram Q&A about the new song, she revealed it would be out in November, which means only a few weeks for fans to wait.
One fan, trying to get as much information as possible from the star, asked her what colour would be a fair representation of the new song.
While a slightly odd question, this is a good way to work out from Billie the mood of the song, and how upbeat it may be.
Billie, in response, posted an orangey-brown colour to the song, which has got people thinking.
It may be this colour represents autumn, meaning the song could be a cosy, cuddly song which one can warm up to.
However, it may be, instead, Billie chose a colour she enjoys to throw her fans off the scent, meaning the song could be something very different to that which we may think.
Speaking to The Herald, the Australian newspaper, Billie’s brother Finneas revealed the album would only be released when they are able to tour it, meaning restrictions will need to be completely lifted.
Finneas said: “Billie and I are full steam ahead on her next record, I’m working on my own album too.
“I haven’t suffered at all because of my set-up. Billie and I can work one-on-one, and I’m working remotely with other artists who FaceTime me and ask if I want to work on a song…
“Billie’s album, and my album, they won’t be a bummer COVID record.
“I have a desperate desire not to release them during COVID-19. It’s the vaccine record!
“I want it to be the album everyone’s out dancing in the streets to.”
This could also give a clue about the upcoming album as well, as it seems it is unlikely to be this year but will hopefully be something which people will enjoy and be able to turn to to lift their spirits.
As a result, it may be the autumnal colour chosen by Billie is as warm and cosy as it seemed when she posted it, and in fact the album will be like a warm hug from your favourite popstar.
Recently, Billie released a song My Future, where she spoke hopefully of her future and what she hopes to see in the world.
She then performed at the DNC, the Democratic National Convention, which is the convention of the Democrat Party in the USA.
This was a signal of how she wanted that song to speak to those considering whether to vote, and how she wants to see change in the political system in her country.
It may be, if this album is destined for post-COVID times, it will be one where things are far kinder and brighter in the future.
