Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Lizzo Did The Sweetest Thing for Megan Thee Stallion

It’s been a rough few weeks for rapper, Megan Thee Stallion. The “Hot Girl Summer” artist was shot on July 12, 2020, and suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Fortunately, the talented rapper underwent surgery and is healing from the traumatic experience. Unfortunately, the event caused a whole host of rumors and some very inappropriate jokes.

When the news first broke, there was a lot of speculation about the situation. Since no reports had been released, rumors swirled that Megan Thee Stallion had been arrested for committing a crime. Seeing that the rumor mill refused to die down, the “Savage” rapper took to Instagram to set the record straight.

Megan Thee Stallion confirms she was shot

“I was never arrested,” Megan Thee Stallion captioned the statement she released. “This whole experience was an eye-opener and a blessing in disguise. I hate that it took this experience for me to learn how to protect my energy,” the 25-year-old shared. Naturally, the rapper’s millions of fans were thrilled to know that she was okay and began sending her well-wishes.

Unfortunately, not everyone seemed to think that the situation was serious. Many people made tasteless jokes about the Houston native being shot by someone she thought was close to her. Even high-profile celebrities like Chrissy Teigen and 50 Cent laughed off the severity of the situation and made jokes at Megan Thee Stallion’s expense.

The rapper expressed her disappointment on Twitter

Seeing all the jokes made about her being shot, Megan Thee Stallion took to Twitter to express her disappointment. “Black women are so unprotected & we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o considering our own,” the “Big Ole Freak” artist began. “It might be funny to y’all on the internet and just another messy topic for you to talk about but this is my real life and I’m real life hurt and traumatized,” she continued.

After seeing Megan Thee Stallion’s statements, some people felt it prudent to walk back on some of the jokes they made at her expense. But, fans of the rapper noted that a lot of the apologies seemed insincere and half-hearted. Fortunately, three of the biggest names in music reached out to the rapper to shower her with love and support.

On her Instagram story, Megan Thee Stallion revealed that Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Lizzo all sent her get well gifts along with sweet words of support. Beyoncé, who recently collaborated with the rapper, sent her some beautiful orchids along with a note. “Queen, Sending you all my love. God bless, Beyoncé,” the note reads.

Rihanna and her team also sent the rapper flowers. “Wishing you a full and speedy recovery, Meg. Just know you’ve got a whole crew over here sending good vibes your way. Love, Rihanna and the Fenty Corp gang,” the note read. Meanwhile, Lizzo sent her fellow rapper a stuffed animal that was packed with her favorite candy and snacks after learning that she was shot. We’re happy to see all these powerful Black women rallying behind Megan Thee Stallion in her time a need. We wish her a speedy and full recovery.
