25 Things We Already Forgot About From Game Of Thrones

HBO’s Game of Thrones still has fans on the edge of their toes. However, because the show has been jam-packed with characters, locations, plot-twists, and epic one-liners, people find it difficult to keep up with the brilliance and fast pace of the show. Though the show may be tricky to follow, once you get a hang of Game of Thrones, you get to fully understand the incredible moments. However, any great show with an incredible cast and cinematography gets overwhelming, and with that, it is easy to get caught up and forget the pivotal moments as you move along with the show.

Game of Thrones is a show that has become a huge part of many people’s lives, but even die-hard GoT fans will admit that looking back, they have forgotten many crucial moments. The only problem here, though, is that many of these moments hold significance because they reappear later in the show, and that is when fans get lost because they do not recall. There are plenty of major storylines and events that you may remember and certain battles that may have stuck with you, but there is a lot of vital pieces of information that is spilled in between all the action. And there are also a few comical moments that hold significance that you may not recall. Therefore, unless you are a GoT master, we are here to remind you of some important moments in GoT history.

25 Hodor’s Time Travel Tragedy

Warning: This scene may bring back tears and/or confusion. Fans will boast that the scene of Hodor’s door-holding unfortunate demise must be one of the most emotional things we saw on the show. However, if you ask fans if they completely understood the time-travel paradox that was a part of this scene, they will tell you that they remain utterly confused ― which is probably why fans chose to forget the unfortunate “Hold the door!” scene. If GoT is your life though, you’ll understand that details from Hodor’s time-travel scene will somehow reappear.

24 Gendry And His Throne

Sadly, when shows get this much buzz, we often forget some of the characters we’ve encountered along the way. If you have a fantastic memory, though, you’ll remember Gendry, if not, you’re probably scratching your head right now. No need to be pensive, we are here to remind you of the last surviving member of House Baratheon, who also had an important claim to the throne. In fact, there was an episode in which viewers witnessed Gendry being exposed as heir to the Iron Throne.

23 When Jaime had it out with Stark’s bodyguard

Now that GoT‘s Jaime Lannister is more lovable and has a less dull persona, we can remind you of the time he was a horrid person. All fans probably remember very clearly the moment Jaime threw Bran off a tower, but do you remember the time he slayed a guard without second thoughts? A scene that was completely cringe-worthy, Jaime and Jory Cassel, who was Ned Stark’s bodyguard and captain of the guards, were in a heated battle. However, it was pushed too far when Jaime, without hesitation, took his dagger to Cassel’s eye socket.

22 When We Found Out What Littlefinger Did

GoT has had a few jaw-dropping moments that left fans causing a storm on social media, and this was one of them. For four seasons of the show, GoT daringly made viewers believe that the Lannisters were the ones responsible for getting rid of Jon Arryn, but after four seasons, viewers were taken on a roller coaster ride. Why? Fans found out that it was actually Littlefinger who was responsible. To refresh your memory, because we are sure you forgot, it Littlefinger who convinced Lysa to poison her own husband. Littlefinger never really gets his own hands dirty.

21 When Sam defended himself against a White Walker

To remind you of the show’s greatest moments, this is another one of those. If you do not recall this awesome moment, you quickly will when we tell you this was when there was a first White Walker death. Running through the woods to escape, Sam was with Gilly and her infant son, her the dragonglass dagger that desperately came in handy. The White Walker tried to get Gilly’s baby, and it was then that Sam made use of the dagger and defeats the White Walker.

20 When Bran’s Visions Filled The Void

Game of Thrones fans are completely immersed into the show and are therefore obsessed with Jon Snow. Seeing as the television series is based on a book, Jon Snow’s past is a hot topic among fans. After all these years that fans have been loyal to the show, the main topic fans have been dissecting is Jon’s past and how it will make its way into his future. And for those who have been trying to solve the puzzle, you’ll want to be reminded of the time Bran’s visions cued us into the missing puzzle pieces of Jon’s history.

19 When Jaime Saved Brienne

So we’ve reminded you that Jaime got rid of many people throughout the show, but do you recall the time he had a halo around his head and did something glorious? At one point, Brienne was captured by Locke and his mercenaries, and when the mercenaries decided to start playing around and take advantage of Brienne, Jaime came to her rescue. Yes, he indeed used all his wit and little heart to convince Locke to deliver her back unharmed for cash. And what makes it better, is villain Jaime actually lied to save her.

18 When Tyrion Met Jon Snow

We want to remind you of the few times GoT made us giggle and ironically, those events and moments were very significant to the show and still are. When Tyrion met Jon Snow back in the first season, it was a pretty crucial moment, but many forget of the moment the two bastards united. The two were friendly enough, and to remind you of some good old GoT humour, before parting ways, the two pissed off the top of the wall; a dream of Tyrion’s apparently.

17 When Shireen Taught Davos How To Read

We love when the characters in GoT pass on their knowledge, especially when it saves them. In season 3 of the colossal show, Shireen, who is Stannis’ daughter, had loads of time to bust out the books and become a literary pro. After that, she helped her father’s prisoner Davos Seaworth, who was imprisoned for opposing Melisandre, by teaching him how to properly read. When he became literate enough, Davos was able to deliver the news that saved him from being executed. High five Shireen!

16 When The Clegane Brothers Fought

When fans want something, they will root until they get it; and fans have been rooting for a while now for a senseless fight between the Clegane brothers. Nicknamed the Mountain and the Hound, the two brothers are loved for their differences; Gregor is a monster and has no pity, while Sandor is half lovable and half fiend. So what does that mean? The brothers are two monsters and fans would love to see them battle it out. However, all those raving for a fight must have forgotten that early in season one, the two fought head to head.

15 Sansa Marrying Tyrion

Just in case you may have forgotten, Sansa was forced to marry Tyrion, but most people only remember her forced marriage to Ramsay. Poor Sansa ― not only is she married to the detestable Ramsay Bolton, but she also had to marry Tyrion. However, there is some confusion with that fixed relationship as the marriage to Tyrion was never consummated, yet she still is technically married to him. So figuratively, her marriage to Ramsay is her second marriage.

14 When The Mountain And Arya Started Their Feud

It is sort of peril to constantly change the actor of a character as audiences tend to disassociate them and forget. Talking about the Mountain could be delirious because it gets difficult to remember the character’s moments when three different actors have been the face of the Clegane brother. For instance, do you remember back in season two when he interfered with Arya’s business? If you do not recall the beginning of their feud, it is likely because he was played by another actor then.

13 When Ser Barristan Quit His Job

If ever you want to know how to quit the job you detest like a pro, then go back to GoT season one. Why? Because Ser Barristan walked out like it was no one’s business. What is even more surprising is how a man who was the Lord Commander and famous knight was able to walk out the door like it was nothing. At the end of season one, Cersei rid Ser of his duties because he and Ned Stark had shared a friendship. However, leave it to the daring Ser to let the court know Cersei’ s excuse was untrue.

12 When Arya Was Saved

Just in case you’re a GoT fan that finds it tricky to follow the action-packed show, we want to remind you of the time Arya got along with Tywin. It seems that that the villains in the show do have a little soft spot in their hearts, and Tywin is one of them. When Arya was captured along with her friends by Lannister, she was saved by the big bad wolf, sorry, we mean by Commander Tywin Lannister. Arya was basically saved because Tywin did not recognize her for who she was, which was an actual girl.

11 When Tormund Fell In Love

Even in a world full of blood, guts, and glory, there is still a crazy little thing called love that exists. In another comedic moment, we caught a character instantly falling head over heels in love, and that was in season six between Tormund and Brienne; basically, Brienne had him from “hello.” However, Tormund would need lessons in the dating department as he tried to get her attention when looking at her while chewing a piece of meat. He really needs to up his game.

10 When Olyvar Opened His Mouth

Arrangements, fixed and forced relationships, and betrayal ― those are all bound to be a part of a show like Game of Thrones. And that is to say that we would be totally surprised to find out that GoT enthusiasts would forget the moment Olyvar was wittier and quicker than everyone else. How so? In season three, you will recall that there was a bunch of silly marriage arrangements, and then all the marriages got rearranged because Olyvar spilled the beans and it went from one ear to another.

9 When Sansa Covered For Littlefinger

Despite the constant betrayal in the show, there are also times when characters have had each other’s backs. However, sometimes characters in the show lie to protect others to benefit themselves. So is there actually any sincerity in the show? In season four, the Knights of the Vale were suspicious of Littlefinger when Lysa Arryn took that fatal step and thought Sansa could help them nail him. However, things took quite the turn when Sansa deployed an emotional testimony that painted an image of Littlefinger as an innocent man. In the end, that made her keep her place in the line of power.

8 When Podrick Won The Ladies Over

There are moments in the show that are a little less gutsy and more lovey-dovey. Tyrion was feeling extra nice one day and decided to let his buddy Podrick enjoy himself in Littlefinger’s establishment with a bag of coins to spare. You know that feeling you get when you go out with money on you and don’t spend it? Well that happened in GoT when Podrick came back from his meeting with the three alluring women who did not take his gold. Apparently, Podrick must have treated the ladies to a great time with lots of love to spare.

7 When Melisandre Revealed Who She Really Is

Witches do not only exist in Salem or around Halloween time it seems, and Game of Thrones fans know that. Though fans were not given the exact answer as to what Melisandre was, and we all felt vexed by the odd situation, things became clearer in season six of the show. It was then that we were finally given the hints needed to conclude that Melisandre was someone or something else than what she was portraying. And her reveal came when she took off her necklace and we saw her reflection as an old and wrinkled lady.

6 When The Clegane Brothers Made A Comeback

And we’re back with our favourite brother duo: the Clegane brothers or the Hound and the Mountain. Season six saw both brothers alive and well despite their near-death experiences. How is that possible? The more things change the more they stay the same though, and that is what fans saw in season six when the two returned. Sandor surprisingly joined a cult and started a wood chopper job, while Cersei continued her usual ways. However, we hope you did not forget that Sandor quickly fell into old violent habits.

5 When Robb Used Grey Wind On Jaime

At the beginning of Game of Thrones, when Jaime was still pretty evil, he got captured and that proved to not be the greatest thing for the Lannister squad. If there is one thing we learned about Jaime, it’s that he does not spill the beans easily, and if you know that is true, you will slowly recall his capture in season two. It was then when Robb decided there was no point in keeping him around as they were going to get nothing out of him. However, Robb took the opportunity to bash Jaime with Grey Wind while showing off his capabilities.

4 When Margaery Won The People Over

It is easy for the GoT characters to win our hearts, but not as easy among the characters within the show. We all know that being a part of royalty in GoT means you must work to win the hearts of the people, and if so, you’ll slowly start to remember when Margaery had to do so. When Joffrey announced that Margaery would be his queen, she was quick on her feet to win the hearts of the people of King’s Landing; at the start of season three, she visited an orphanage and she immediately blew all their minds with her kindness.

3 When Littlefinger Admitted His Feelings

Some creepy things happen in the GoT world that would not pass in the real world, but because fans forget certain moments of the show, it is easy to forget the cringier moments. One of them happens to be when Littlefinger finally confesses his feelings for Sansa to Sansa; now whether you agree with that relationship or not will say a lot about the GoT fan you are. However, most fans may have forgot about the time he admitted feelings because it is hard to tell when the man is speaking the truth or lies.

2 When They Took Over Yukai

What is GoT without the fight scenes? And what is GoT if you do not recall the crucial fight scenes? After Daenerys won Astapor’s loyalty, she decided to take over Yukai and got Daario, Grey Worm, and Jorah to join her and force the slave soldiers to give up the fight. It was an epic and unique fighting scene because all three men proved to be quite the warrior and showed their unique battling skills. They showed viewers that they are completely different on the battle field than they are in social situations.

1 When The Women Took Over

If you ever wanted to see a group of women as fierce as tigers, you may want to binge-watch Game of Thrones quickly and get to season six. To refresh your memory, these are the moments later in the series that show the women running the game. The bold and daring Cersei took a seat on the Iron Throne, while Yara Greyjoy fought endlessly for her house while using her “weak men” argument to back her up. If that is not enough to refresh your memory, rewatch scenes of the women taking care of GoT business.
