A woman has revealed she spent over $4,000 to marry herself and show the world how much she ‘loves’ herself.

Danni, 30, who based in the US, appeared on Dr. Phil’s Valentine’s Day special episode titled ‘Forget You, I’m Marrying Myself,’ where explained why tying the knot with herself was the best decision she ever made.

The 30-year-old – who stood in front of a mirror at her wedding – noted she had experienced ‘a lot of trauma’ and had decided it was time to work on herself.

After going to therapy, giving up sex, and ending her relationship with alcohol, Danni decided there was no better to time to hand over thousands of dollars to celebrate her love to herself.

‘My name is Danni and I married myself,’ the singleton says before the video cuts to a clip of her wedding.

At Danni’s wedding, her friends and family sat outside as they witnessed the 30-year-old stand in front of a mirror preparing to kiss her reflection.

At the service, the officiant – who was Dann’s friend, asked her if she ‘promised to never give up, give herself grace, and value herself.’

After saying ‘I do,’ Danni leaned into the mirror and kissed her reflection to seal the deal.

In addition to spending $4,000 on her wedding to herself, the bride also had nine bridesmaids, and she was even branded a ‘bridezilla.’

Although Dr. Phil praised the 30-year-old for embracing self-love and prioritizing herself, he questioned why she needed to hold a ceremony to make things official.

Danni responded: ‘I grew up going to weddings my whole life, and I was taught that they were about love, joy, commitment, you know, so I wanted to show that and share that with my family and my friends.

‘[I] experienced a lot of traumatic things growing up and in my younger days, and so I didn’t always have self-love, I didn’t always give myself everything that I needed, and I went on this long therapeutic journey.

Danni even addressed the critics who may have thought she was ‘overdoing’ practicing self-love

‘I stopped drinking, stopped having sex, and I said now it’s time I went to therapy, it’s time to marry myself. I have something that I’ve never had before, and my cup is full.’

She added that after going through such traumatic experiences, she was inspired to tie the knot to herself.

‘I overcame a lot of trauma, and it inspired me to marry myself. I realized I wasn’t living for myself and this wedding was my chance to start over,’ she explained.

Danni even addressed the critics who may have thought she was ‘overdoing’ practicing self-love.

The 30-year-old said: ‘There is no such thing as overdoing celebrating yourself. Some people buy themselves a bag, some people buy themselves a nice cruise – me, I gave myself a wedding!’

And while Dani said that she had the wedding to show everyone how much she cared for herself, they weren’t all on board right away.

The wedding that sees women marrying themselves has become more popular in recent years, with another woman having tied the knot with herself in an intimate ceremony after breaking up with her long-term boyfriend.

Acts of self-love seem to have soared after Miley Cyrus wrote what has been dubbed the ‘ultimate ode’ to embracing yourself.

The song, which was released last month and is a nod to her relationship with Liam Hemsworth, garnered over 96 million streams, and became the single most-streamed song within a week of its release.

The hit tune promotes sologamy, which kicks monogamy or polygamy to the curb and pushes for self-marriage or self-partnering.

After streams of the song went to an all-time high, especially before Valentine’s Day, many women drew inspiration from the popstar and began practicing more self-love techniques, including marrying themselves.
