When will the royal baby name be announced? How long does it usually take?

The royal baby name has not yet been revealed.

The newest member of the royal family arrived at 5:26am this morning (May 6).

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s son weighed a healthy 7lbs 3oz.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept all details of the royal baby quiet.

But that didn’t stop the public speculating on all details, from the due date to the baby name.

The nation is still waiting in anticipation of the baby name.

While it’s not known for sure how long Meghan and Harry will wait, there is reason to believe the private couple won’t reveal it just yet.

When will Meghan and Harry announce the royal baby name?

The public are usually left hanging when it comes to the name of the newborns.

The name is never announced when the royal baby is revealed.

Harry and Meghan have not revealed when they will be announcing the name.

The good thing for Meghan is that she has someone who has done all this before – Kate Middleton.

And she will no doubt be looking to her as to what procedures to follow.

How will the Royal baby’s name be announced?

It is believed Harry and Meghan will follow royal protocol when it comes to announcing the baby’s name.

Based on how Prince Louis’ name was revealed it is thought they will do the same – in a press release.

A statement was published on social media from Kensington Palace: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to announce that they have named their son Louis Arthur Charles.

“The baby will be known as High Royal Highness Prince Louis of Cambridge.”

Will Harry and Meghan’s baby have a title?

It is not believed Harry and Meghan’s baby will hold the title of Royal Highness.

It is the Queen who decides whether or not Baby Sussex will have a title.

Baby Sussex, who is seventh in line to the throne, is too far down the line of succession to be an HRH.

George V stated in 1917: “The grandchildren of the sons of any such Sovereign in the direct male line (save only the eldest living son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales) shall have and enjoy in all occasions the style and title enjoyed by the children of Dukes of these Our Realms.”
