TripAdvisor claims Boston has best pizzeria in the country

TripAdvisor has slammed New York’s slices again.

The Massachusetts-based travel site claims Boston has the top pizzeria in the country, ranking a restaurant chain over a Big Apple pizza joint.

Regina Pizzeria was named the nation’s top pizza spot, with NYC’s Bleecker Street Pizza coming in second on the list.

Voted top dog for its “famous brick-oven, thin-crust pizzas” with “spicy sauce” and “salty cheese,” the pizzeria has 14 locations across Massachusetts.

Bleecker Street Pizza was described as a “tiny, authentic Tuscan-style pizza joint” known for its “Nonna Maria” slice made from an old family recipe.

Of course, the Boston pizzeria chain is already gloating with its new accolade on the company website.

The top five included Modern Apizza in New Haven, Connecticut; Home Slice Pizza in Austin, Texas and Moose’s Tooth Pub and Pizzeria in Anchorage, Alaska.

Brooklyn also made an appearance on the list with Juliana’s Pizza, run by pizza legends Patsy and Carol Grimaldi, earning the sixth spot. Juliana’s was the top pick on TripAdvisor in 2015, but the travel site listed Chicago as the best city that year.

TripAdvisor said the results were compiled based on “millions of reviews” from travelers along with the “quality and quantity of reviews.”
