A new app is set to revolutionise the beauty regimes of women up and down the country by picking out their perfect nail varnish shade in seconds.

NailBuff helps shoppers identify the best polish to complement their outfit using sophisticated colour match technology teamed with a huge database of existing products.

Inspired by Meghan Markle’s fondness for ‘matchy matchy’ nails and clutch bags, it is set to solve the age-old problem of colour clashing for style-conscious shoppers.

Users can snap a photo of their favourite bag, and the app’s unique technology will scour a library of thousands of hues across major brands including Model’s Own, Barry M and O.P.I. to find the closest match.

Once they’ve find their perfect colour, they can add it to a virtual ‘wish list’ or share via social media.

Users can also create an online ‘library’ of nail polishes they already own for reference when shopping for their latest fashion purchase.

Developers also have plans to enable customers to purchase directly colours through the app, as well as through their favourite salon’s inventory.

This will mean that they can pick out their favourite shade before they’ve even arrived at their appointment.

NailBuff is the brainchild of Harpreet Birdi whose career in investment banking HR took her to New York, where she became hooked on the nail salon experience. 

Unable to find the same service in London, Harpreet decided to qualify as a nail technician. 

Coupled with the influx of beauty apps over the past couple of years, Harpreet spotted an opportunity to combine her love of technology and nail care expertise.

The Duchess of Sussex is known for her ‘matchy matchy’ approach to dressing, and often coordinates her clutch bags with her nails.

The NailBuff app is free and available to download for iOS via the AppStore
