For most families, a christening means a stuffy afternoon in the local church.
But not so for fashion designer Peter Dundas and his partner Evangelo Bousis, who baptised their children in a glitzy celebration complete with billionaire godparents, a live band and a reception bigger than most wedding parties.
Shipping heiress Eugenie Niarchos and Italian socialite Bianca Brandolini led the glamour as Peter and Evangelo – the co-founders of label Dundas – baptised son Alexios and daughter Eleni in Athens over the weekend.

The festivities kicked off with a dinner at chic seaside restaurant Papaioannou, hosted by the proud grandparents.
Evangelo, known as Ev, wrote on Instagram: ‘Was so great to see all our friends and family come from all over the world to celebrate our babies Alexios and Eleni!
‘We love you all and thank you for being with us! We also want to thank our babies godparents!’
The service itself was performed by the Archbishop of America, his Eminence Elpidophoros. Dundas believes his son and daughter are the first children of a male same-sex couple to be baptised into the Greek Orthodox faith.
‘We are grateful and honored that the powerful and beautiful service was performed by the Archbishop of America, his Eminence Elpidophoros and thrilled by his words that all children are Gods children,’ the Norwegian designer said.
‘We hope this will be the first of many Christenings like ours and that everyone can feel they have a place in their chosen faith.

The fun continued with a black tie party at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens where guests danced to a set by Greek-Cypriot singer Anna Vissi who performed with a brass band.
Eugenie, daughter of billionaire Greek shipping magnate Philip Niarchos and grandson of Stavros Niarchos, dressed in a pretty white crop top and matching midi-skirt set, which complemented the one worn by fellow godmother Bianca.
Model and actress Bianca is the daughter of Italian nobleman Rodrigo Tiberto Brandolini d’Adda, Count of Valmareno, and Princess Georgina Maria Natividad de Faucigny-Lucinge et Coligny, a French-Brazilian model who worked for Valentino as an artistic muse.

She was thrilled to be involved in the day, writing: ‘The world moves forward thanks to people like you @evbousis and @peter_dundas. Thank you for choosing me as the Godmother of your beautiful Baby Eleni. Your four fairies will now always look over her.’
Other guests included the supermodel Natasha Poly, Brazilian model Ana Beatriz Barros El Chiaty and girl about town Natalia Blaskovicov.
The post was met with congratulatory messages from other high profile friends including Heidi Klum and Margherita Missoni, of the Italian fashion dynasty.
Peter Dundas worked at Jean Paul Gaultier, Lacroix, Emanuel Ungaro, Emilio Pucci and Cavalli before launching his own label, Dundas, in 2017. The label made its debut on Beyonce at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
He and Evangelo spoke about their gruelling four-year surrogacy journey that led to the birth of son Alexios in 2021. Daughter Eleni was born in March.
