After trying numerous different ‘topical treatments, masks, diets and laser’, she stumbled upon a skincare regime that actually works – and has since transformed her skin (pictured before and after)

Conagh admitted she developed acne around four years ago and it had an almost immediate effect on her self-confidence:

‘Initially it didn’t bother me much, but when it got worse I became very self-conscious about my skin and wouldn’t leave the house without makeup,’ she explained.

‘I think I tried every acne treatment under the sun.

‘From proactive to naturopaths, skin clinics, herbs, supplements, antibiotics, diet changes, the pill, peels, facials and every skincare product on the market – I tried it all and nothing seemed to work.’

At her wits’ end, the then 15-year-old decided to go on Roaccutane – a potent treatment for acne.

‘I felt that this was the only thing that would work as I had tried everything,’ she said.

‘It had a quick effect and was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

‘Having acne is really taxing and emotionally challenging. I can’t put into words how much it debilitates you and crushes your self confidence.’

It’s not only Roaccutane that has helped the teenager to become confident in her skin, however.

Conagh has a dedicated skincare regime which has meant she ‘hardly ever gets a breakout now’.

‘I use a spin brush by Vanity Planet with the Origins Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash.

‘I think you can see a visible difference in my skin since using this, as it cleans the skin without over-drying it.

‘I follow this with the Asap Skin Care Super B Complex and the Asap Skin Care Super C Serum.’

Conagh also uses countless products by the budget skincare brand, The Ordinary, including their Salicylic Solution 2%, the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc and the retinoid (pictured now)
