Sky Sports’ David Lloyd stunned cricket lovers with this gross move

Sky Sports commentator David “Bumble” Lloyd stunned cricket lovers round the world – pulling away chewing gum he had secretly stored behind his EAR.

The former Lancashire and England cricketer – who was seen live on TV stretching the gum away from his lobe – told his flabber-ghasted colleagues: “I’m from the north…..I didn’t want to lose it.”

David, 71, was commentating on fifth England v India Test Match at The Oval for Sky – who feed footage round the world.‎

As he started an afternoon stint on Saturday with colleagues, former England skipper Nasser Hussain and Indian star Harbhajan Singh, he realised he needed to find somewhere for his gum.

But instead of binning it he stuck for safe-keeping it behind the lobe of his left ear.

Lloyd was horrified when the camera was later switched to the commentary box for a discussion between Hussain and Singh and the gum could be seen peeking out from his ear lobe.

As the cameras switched to the pitch guffaws could be heard from the box and stunned Nasser Hussain asked: “Are you wearing a new earing or something, you’ve got something in your ear.”

The camera’s then showed Lloyd fiddling with his ear and stretching and pulling the gum away.

Nasser laughed: “Is that what they do up north….they hide their chewing gum behind their ear?”

Lloyd: “I didn’t want to lose it did I? We came into the comm box and I just though they’ll see me chewing. That is so embarrassing.”

He said he realised the gum was still then when the cameras switched to inside the commentary box.

He added: “I just looked at the screen and thought: NO”

Nasser later asked him about his plans for the end of the days play joking: “Looking forward to an evening taking the chewing gum out of your ear?”
