Prince Charles, 70, reveals impressive physique on Barbados beach break

Prince Charles wowed onlookers by stripping off on a Barbados beach to reveal a rather impressive muscular frame.

The heir to the throne, who turned 70 last November, took a break from his hectic schedule on the Caribbean island to cool off in crystal clear blue sea.

Former military man Charles is renowned for being very active, having served in both the navy and air force and trained as a jet pilot maintaining an incredible level of fitness.

He is also an avid polo player, goes on regular hikes, and has a regular fitness regimen.

The Prince has been known to do push-ups and crunches before bed and was even recorded asking the National Welsh Rugby team for training advice, to help him be even more fit.

Camilla, who is 71, also looked incredibly fit in an aqua-blue one-piece swimsuit with onlookers saying the royal couple “looked very happy together”.

The royal couple are undertaking more than 50 engagements, covering six countries and one overseas territory including a historic trip to Cuba over the next 10 days at the behest of the Foreign Office.

The highlight of their trip is a four-day tour of Cuba beginning on March 24 – the first by members of the monarchy.

One onlooker at the public beach in Barbados said: “Charles looked absolutely incredible. He has a physique of a very fit man less than half his age.

“He is testament to living a healthy and actively lifestyle.”

The images have drawn comparisons with infamous pictures of Charles from 1979 when Jane Priest, a glamorous Perth model became a global sensation after famously ambushing him in the surf at Cottesloe Beach in front of the world’s media.

Charles to the throne has previously joked how gym cross-trainers are the “instruments of torture”.

He made the joke last November as he was given a tour of the new facilities at the police station in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.

The heir maintains a strict diet, revealed in an interview for his 70th birthday, which revealed his eating habits are more like an eccentric retired Colonel’s than King Henry VIII’s.

It all starts with breakfast when Charles sits down to an egg boiled for exactly four minutes.

With that, he has a cup of Darjeeling tea with milk and honey.

The Prince always skips lunch but almost always has some form of game for his supper.

Indicating a borderline obsession with the small game birds, Charles has also claimed to have invented a version of moussaka using grouse – calling it “groussaka”.
