PIMM'S O'CLOCK

PIMM'S fans should listen up as you can now get a jam flavoured with the summer tipple to spread over your toast and scones.

The new jam combines Pimm's No 1 with the flavour of sweet strawberries, juicy tangerines and a hint of mint.

You can get your hands on it in store and online at Asda and Waitrose where a 330g jar will set you back £2.49.

But you'll have to wait until July as it's not on the shelves yet.

The only other boozy jam we could find is Sainsbury's range of Tipton jams, which come in Buck's Fizz cocktail, Peach Bellini, and Lime Mojito cocktail.

These cost more at £3 although we don't know how much you get in a jar as the listings don't specify this.

Pimm's has launched this special edition just in time for summer but it's going to be a permanent fixture. We can only ask ourselves: why has this not been done before now?

The drink brand has partnered with one of England's oldest jam makers, Duerr's, to create the unique treat, which is suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs – those who are gluten intolerant.

Whether it is on a scone with lashings of clotted cream or on a hot toasted crumpet – or even in a homemade Victoria sponge cake – there are lots of ways to enjoy this very British of traditions.

Asda is doing knock-off M&S gin and cocktails in a can – and they are cheaper.

For a chilled soft drink, we found cheaper but still delicious alternatives to big-brand ice-cold drinks for this summer.

And much to our delight, McDonald's is bringing back Cadbury Flake McFlurries with raspberry sauce.
