Jugs of Pimms at the pub or at a BBQ has become pretty synonymous with summer, but now there’s a new drink to add to the mix.
According to the brand, the new Pimm’s Sundowner is the perfect aperitif to enjoy with friends as the sun sets – come rain or shine.
Traditionally, an aperitif is served as a before-dinner drink and usually has a dry, bitter taste to stimulate your appetite. And this is no exception; designed to signal the start of an evening with friends, it’s balanced with tart redcurrant notes, delivering a bitter sweet-tasting aperitif.

Available exclusively at Sainsbury’s and Amazon, it cost £16 for a 70cl bottle. At 18 per cent alcohol, it’s less alcoholic than the original Pimms which is traditionally served with three parts lemonade and one part Pimms.
The new Pimm’s Sundowner is more of a spritz, designed to be served with prosecco and soda. Just pour 50ml of Pimm’s Sundowner over a wine glass filled with ice, add 50ml of prosecco and top up with soda before garnishing with fresh raspberries.
