Pete Davidson Jokes That He Replaced Ariana Grande's Birth Control with Tic-Tacs, and Twitter is NOT Here for It

Last night during Saturday Night Live’s season premiere, Pete Davison made a controversial joke that some people are NOT happy with.

When Pete appeared on Weekend Update to talk about his relationship with Ariana Grande, he made a joke about how he was going to make sure that Ari stays with him. He said, “Last night I switched her birth control with Tic-Tacs…I believe in us an all, but I just want to make sure that she can’t go anywhere.” Oof.

Understandably, Twitter wasn’t too amped about the joke, and some people tweeted about how birth control sabotage was no laughing matter:

Generally I thought Pete Davidson was funny, but until birth control sabotage stops being a common form of abuse and a way abusers trap women in dangergous relationships, I’m not going to laugh at that joke #SNLPremiere

After Pete Davidson’s awkwardly unfunny remarks on @NBCSNL tonight, I had some thoughts and put them into words. Frankly, we should all be scared for @ArianaGrande. #SNL #SNLPremiere pic.twitter.com/vaxV2O6PUy

While others were just generally icked out by the comment:

#SNLPremiere Okay, we know that Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande are a couple, I am tired and this is creepy cause he actually said he switched her birth control, put Tic-tacs to ensure that she doesn’t leave, WTAF!?

Oh boy Pete Davidson just said some horrible shit on SNL. Those weren’t jokes mate. ??‍♀️ #SNLPremiere

Pete, man….I was with you until that joke about birth control. Not great my guy #SNLPremiere

The birth control joke wasn’t funny. Pete is a bad look for her honestly #SNL #SNLPremiere

So, what do you think about Pete’s birth control joke?
