Optical illusion determines your attitude towards life’s challenges

A new optical illusion vows that it could determine whether you are resilient in the face of adversity or whether you are prone to bottling up your emotions.

The psychological test, presented by brainteaser enthusiast Mia Yilin, forces the brain and eyes to work together to interpret a two-dimensional image.

Whether the images revealed truths about the psyche is up for debate, but some experts believe human perception of imagery could reveal how the mind works.

This in turn may offer insight into what behaviors a person’s brain is inclined towards and may reveal patterns in their day-to-day behavior.

The latest brain teaser was shared on Mia Yilin’s TikTok account, which provides entertainment to an audience of more than 456,200 followers.

From a distance, the illusion may initially appear as a black-and-yellow graphic, but on closer inspection, several distinct shapes can be made out.

More specifically, the picture depicts the shadows of two people facing each other and a candle at the center. Depending on which you see first, could reveal certain factors about your personality, according to the video creator.

Yilin explained in her clip: “If you first saw the two people. Then you are a resilient spirit, capable of bouncing back from any setback.

“Challenges don’t break you, they make you stronger. However, don’t forget to express your emotions and seek support when needed.”

The video creator advised against bottling up your feelings, as this will likely take a toll on your mental well-being over time, she explained.

Meanwhile, people who saw the candle first may have “an uncanny ability to see beyond the surface and read people like an open book”.

Yilin noted: “Your intuition is spot on and you pick up on subtle cues that most people miss. But remember, don’t doubt yourself and let others discourage you.

“Because more likely than not, your suspicions are correct.”
