New footage emerged of mass Croydon brawl as men fight with swords and machetes

New footage has emerged of a mass brawl near West Croydon station where a dozen armed men clashed with machetes and metal poles in broad daylight.

The video, filmed on London Road just north of the station, shows baseball bats and what appear to be knives, machetes and even swords being used in the ugly fight.

A significant crowd of people can be seen watching the fight which spills from the pavement into the road and causes traffic to be brought to a standstill.

It is not yet known if anyone was seriously hurt in the mass brawl, but the footage shows men swinging the metal baseball bats with force and clashing with one another.

The incident happened on September 3, the Met Police confirmed.

Although shaky, the video footage, which was originally posted on social media app Snapchat, appears to show a clash between two men initially, both of whom are carrying baseball bats and swinging them wildly.

One of the men appears to retreat before being chased not just by his opponent but the other men gathered around them on the pavement.

The pavement is strewn with what appear to be cardboard boxes used for transporting vegetables.

Another angle shows that multiple separate fights appear to be taking place with men being thrown around the pavement and into shop windows and shutters.

Some of the men are then seen to launch items several metres down the high street, although it cannot be seen clearly what is being thrown.
