“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes revealed her husband, Gregg, is battling stage 3 colon cancer.
Leakes, 50, went public with Gregg’s health struggles in June, sharing the couple’s “new normal” in a doctor’s office, but didn’t disclose what type of cancer he was facing – until now.
During the Bravo show’s Season 11 premiere Sunday, the reality star recalled the dire moments leading up to Gregg’s diagnosis.
“It was Cinco de Mayo,” NeNe said. “Gregg was in excruciating pain. Like, I’ve never seen him say, ‘I’m hurting so bad, the pain is so bad in my stomach.’ And finally he said to me, ‘Take me to the hospital.'”
At the hospital, Gregg, 63, learned his life was hanging in the balance and that he had to undergo an emergency operation to remove part of his colon that was “infected.”
