A mum has left people divided after admitting she forgot her baby at the airport.
The parent took to US question-and-answer website Quora to explain the situation.
She told fellow users: "Once we were leaving a restaurant with my four children… one was a week or so old and in a baby carrier sleeping quietly, sitting on the end of our long table.
"I picked up the two-year-old and took the four-year-old’s hand the six-year-old was holding the four-year old’s other hand like we always do and I assumed my husband was going to grab the baby carrier.
"We snaked our way out of the restaurant and crossed the parking lot to our car before I turned around to get the baby from my husband so he could open the car doors with his key."
She added: "It was like a piano fell on me… Holy crap the is still in the restaurant.
"I dashed back into the restaurant and there he was still sleeping soundly on the table by the back wall."
"The old couple who sat across the room from us said 'We knew you’d be back' and smiled. Another couple gave me the stink eye.
"I was already traumatised totally embarrassed and mad at myself for not checking on my husband sooner before we even left the restaurant.
"When I got back out to the car my husband said: 'Sorry, I forgot there are four of them now'. That’s understandable…"
People were left divided over the story, as some thought it was understandable, while others were shocked.
One user exclaimed: "Jeeze I have only one and I spent the first year of his life near constantly stressing out about dropping him, forgetting him or letting him fall from the bed. Well, I can say at least I didn't drop him."
While another added: "Why are you responsible for three kids in your husband’s mind while he is responsible for none?
"I don’t mean to be judgmental, maybe he was carrying/doing something else? But if he wasn’t, that seems kind of an unfair arrangement."
However, another reassured her: "I could see that happening- you are so used to be a certain number of people and then you're now not that certain number….And yes never assume."

While another added: "As a waitress, I waited on a couple with a newborn infant.
"The baby was asleep – and stayed that way all through dinner.
"They had put his carrier on the floor under the table and when they finished eating, they paid their check and left- I thought the baby was the best 'tip' I’d gotten that day, but they were back to claim him before I’d finished cleaning off the table.
"It seems they were such new parents, they’d simply forgotten that he was there."
