A mother-of-seven who had her right areola, nipple, and implant removed after a disastrous ‘mommy makeover’ proudly showed off her new breasts following a much-needed corrective surgery.

Sonya, 34, from California, appeared on Wednesday night’s episode of the E! reality series Botched, revealing that the discount Florida doctor who performed her surgeries told her to ‘put ice’ on her nipple when it started to turn black.

‘I went in for a mommy makeover and came out a hot mess,’ she told the cameras during her testimonial.

Before and after: Sonya, 34, from California, had her deformed breasts and stomach fixed on Wednesday night’s episode of Botched

Disaster: The mother-of-seven said that she ‘went in for a mommy makeover and came out a hot mess’

Sonya said she was an outgoing kid who loved being the center of attention. By the time she was a pre-teen, she was wearing a size DD bra.

‘It got me lots of attention — probably the wrong attention — but I liked my boobs. Actually, I loved them,’ she said, looking back.

The mom said she went on a ‘hot date’ when she was 16 and ended up getting pregnant after having sex for the first time. Over the next 15 years, she had seven children.

Sonya explained that having so many kids caused her weight to fluctuate. After she had her twins in 2016, she reached her highest weight of 307 pounds.

‘I felt like an Oompa Loompa,’ she admitted.

After having gastric sleeve surgery, she lost a total of 170 pounds but was left with ‘a lot of loose skin that looked like a mudslide.’

Sonya said she went to see a doctor in Miami for skin removal surgery because he was ‘a lot cheaper than the California doctors.’

Although she just wanted her excess skin removed, the doctor sold her on a ‘mommy makeover.’

‘The doctor never asked me what I wanted,’ she recalled. ‘He basically said, “Hi,’ lifted my boobs, said, “We can do this,” and left.’

Sonya said she knew in her gut that something was wrong with her breast as soon as she woke up from the surgery.

Yikes: The discount Florida doctor who performed her surgeries told her to ‘put ice’ on her nipple when it started to turn black

‘I went to the restroom and I looked and I noticed my right nipple [was] black,’ she said. ‘I showed the doctor. He brushed it off like it was nothing.’

The mom said he basically told her to put ice on it and massage it.

‘A few days later, I went in again,’ she explained. ‘This time my boob was inflamed and he said, “You need to be admitted into the emergency room.”

‘After being in the hospital for a few days, the surgeon removed my areola, nipple, and implant, and when I woke up, where the areola and nipple were was gone. All I could see was meat, flesh.’

Sonya, who also the excess skin on her stomach removed, said the stitches on her stomach just started opening and her stomach drain fell out when she was in the hospital. She admitted that she thought she was going to die.

Trouble: After the area became inflamed, Sonya was admitted into the hospital and a surgeon removed her right areola, nipple, and implant

Disaster: Sonya, who also had the excess skin on her stomach removed, said the stitches on her stomach just started opening and her stomach drain fell out

Hard to imagine: Sonya said her stomach looked like a ‘butt’ after surgery

‘After three months of healing, my body looked worse than when I came in,’ she said, admitting that she pushed everyone away when she got home, including her partner Tom.

During her consultation with Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif, she admitted that she wasn’t sure if her doctor in Florida was a board certified plastic surgeon.

The doctors came to the conclusion that he was probably a general surgeon — not a plastic surgeon — which was why his prices were so much cheaper.

Dr. Dubrow and Dr. Nassif were stunned when Sonya told them that her doctor advised her to put ice on her nipple when it started to turn black.

‘Putting ice on a nipple that is turning black is the last thing you want to do,’ Dr. Nssif said in his testimonial. ‘You want to increase the blood flow, but putting ice on it is going to constrict the blood flow, making it harder for oxygen to go through, making it more difficult for the nipple to stay alive.’

Deformed: ‘After three months of healing, my body looked worse than when I came in,’ she said

Plan: During her consultation with Dr. Terry Dubrow, he told her he thought the best course of acting would be to remove her skin graft and try to put a big implant in there

Disaster: He explained that the issue with her abdomen is that her pubic area was contracted upward and pulled up the height of her bellybutton, which was basically just a scar

‘Putting ice on a black nipple is neither diagnosing nor treating,’ Dr. Dubrow told Sonya. ‘We call that in plastic surgery malpractice.’

Not only were her breasts deformed, but she also came out of her mommy makeover with a stomach that looked like a ‘butt.’

In the examining room, the doctors warned her that this would not be an easy fix.

‘So, you have a breast implant in place that’s soft. This one is a problem child,’ Dr. Durbrow said, pointing to her right breast.

‘You only have a fraction of your areola. Probably the best thing to do is remove the skin graft and try to put a big implant in there and expand up your regular breast skin.’

Much better: Dr. Dubrow warned her that she may not like the end result, even if the surgery goes perfectly, but he still agreed to take on her case

Transformation: They decided to move forward with the surgery, and she was thrilled with the results

Happy as can be: ‘Thanks to Dr. Dubrow, my breasts are symmetrical and my excess flabby skin is gone,’ she said after she healed

He explained that the issue with her abdomen is that her pubic area was contracted upward and pulled up the height of her bellybutton, which was basically just a scar.

‘I mean, this looks like work that was done by a surgeon who read a couple of plastic surgery textbooks, to be honest,’ Dr. Dubrow said.

Dr. Nassif noted that his partner has taken on a lot of difficult cases, but he had ‘no clue’ how he was going to go about repairing Sonya’s breasts and stomach.

‘Even if everything goes smoothly, and you heal properly, and I were to do this perfectly, you still may not like the result,’ Dr. Dubrow admitted.

Sonya was so upset that she wasted so much money on plastic surgeries that ultimately left her miserable she started to cry in the examining room.

Next up: During the episode, the doctors also headed to Montana to meet with a patient named Heather whose face was crushed in a motorcycle accident

Traumatic: Heather was just 14 years old when she was throw into a chain-link fence that cut her nose down to her throat

Difficulties: Heather had three nasal surgeries, but her nose was still caved in, and she struggled with her breathing

They decided to move forward with the surgery, and she was thrilled with the results. Sonya happily showed off her figure in halter dress after she was healed.

‘Before surgery, my body looked like a melting mudslide. It was bumpy, lumpy, and disfigured,’ she said. ‘But now, thanks to Dr. Dubrow, my breasts are symmetrical and my excess flabby skin is gone.’

During the episode, the doctors also headed to Montana to meet with a patient named Heather whose face was crushed in a motorcycle accident.

She was just 14 years old when she slammed into a chain-link fence during a nighttime ride.

‘It was at night and the last thing I remember is just taking off as fast as you can and hitting the fence,’ she told the doctors.

Hard case: Dr. Paul Nassif was admittedly ‘nervous’ about going through with the revisional rhinoplasty after examining Heather in her home. However, he agreed to perform the surgery

Better than ever: In addition to fixing her nasal passages, he also fixed her scarred right eye. ‘I can breathe normally and the skin under my eye looks completely normal,’ she said

‘It split me from here all the way down to the back of my throat. So, half my jaw dropped in my mouth and it crushed my cheek bone under my eye, as well, completely.’

Heather had three nasal surgeries, but her nose was still caved in, and she struggled with her breathing. She also still suffered from PTSD following the accident.

‘What Heather went through was extremely traumatic and it’s something I’m sure she doesn’t want to relive,’ Dr. Nassif said in his testimonial. ‘If we can do something to help her, that might help erase some of these horrible memories of which she had happen to her.’

He was admittedly ‘nervous’ about going through with the revisional rhinoplasty after examining Heather in her home. However, he agreed to perform the surgery in his operating room in California.

In addition to fixing her nasal passages, he also fixed her scarred right eye.

‘Before my surgery, a motorcycle accident made my face look unrecognizable,’ Heather said. ‘Now since my surgery, I can breathe normally and the skin under my eye looks completely normal.’
