For the past week, Qingchen Jingjing, a 19-year-old based in Mianyang, China, has been on the run after being accused of belonging to a criminal gang that scammed money out of unsuspecting men at bars and tea houses. Mianyang’s police confirmed Jingjing’s arrest on their Weibo account, China’s version of Twitter.

On Nov. 20, local authorities uploaded a wanted poster of Jingjing along with a photo of her and a $430 bounty for information that could lead to her arrest.

Jingjing’s photo turned into a social media sensation on Weibo. Users began calling her the country’s prettiest criminal.

“She could earn much more being a livestreamer than a bar scammer. Being a scammer is very hard work,” one user wrote on Weibo, as translated by South China Morning Post.

Jingjing’s career path could mirror ex-con-turned-model Jeremy Leeks, who’s known as America’s “Hot Felon.” He was arrested in 2014 on felony weapons charges, and his handsome mug shot went viral on social media. He has since modeled for Philipp Plein and FashionNova Men.
