Australian comedian Tom Armstrong has revealed how he used a Snapchat gender-swapping filter to set up his fake Tinder profile with pictures of himself as a woman

‘So I set up an account, my name was “Tomara”, which is not a [real] name for a girl and yet dudes were frothing it,’ Tom said.

‘I only had this on for 15 minutes and I got some crazy s*** like instant matches… This worked too well and escalated quickly.’

And to his surprise, the fake profile was attracting a lot of attention after he matched with more than 200 men.

‘There’s a lot to go through, I’m very popular. It’s hard being a hot chick,’ Tom said.

‘Turns out guys really frothed my looks and wanted to smash.’

Tom shared a few of the messages he received, with one from ‘Adem’ saying: ‘Do you have sex?’ to which Tomara responded: ‘Yes but unfortunately only with men who spell their name in traditional ways. Sorry Adem.’

In another conversation, ‘Daniel’ complimented Tomara’s looks before saying: ‘I’ve been staring at your breasts while I’m looking at your photos… It looks like it’s cool to have sex with you. How about tonight?’

His girlfriend Tonia helped him set up the account, even putting a blonde wig on for his shoot

Following the social experiment, Tom said he was stunned to see what single women really put up with on the dating app after he received very suggestive messages

Tom said he stumbled across a profile of a couple, to which he quickly learnt they were seeking a woman for a threesome.

Within minutes of chatting, Tom said they exchanged numbers before the couple began sending him graphic pictures and videos.

When the couple requested to see Tomara’s ‘body’, Tom decided to film himself using the gender-swapping filter to come clean about his identity: ‘I’m a man.’

Following the social experiment, Tom said he was stunned to see what single women really put up with on the dating app after he received very suggestive messages.

‘It’s fair to say that being a girl on Tinder is very intense. It’s a lot, there’s a lot of matches, a lot of s*** comments, a lot going on, a lot of a**holes,’ he said.

‘But it was all a bit overwhelming and it just made a girl feel really lost.’

In another chat, Tomara responded to ‘Alex’ with a lengthy reply rambling on about ‘her’ day
