A MAJOR pub chain is giving away free drinks during the World Cup Final this Sunday.

If you're heading down to a Greene King to watch England play in the final on Sunday you could get a free drink.

Over 900 pubs will give a free drink to any pub goer who turns up either wearing the England kit, England colours or England face paint.

The offer will be available between 11am and 2pm on Sunday August 20.

Customers will be able to choose one free drink including cask ales, lagers, craft beers, wines, spirits and mixers.

It comes after England knocked out Australia in the World Cup semi-final on Wednesday (August 16).

The Lionesses will now play Spain in a battle to win the World Cup trophy.

This will be the first time an England team have made it to the final since 1966.

Michelle West, head of sport marketing for Greene King, said: “The team has performed incredibly over the course of the tournament, and we’re so excited for the final against Spain this Sunday.

“We’re asking fans to head to their local Greene King Sport pub and show their colours in support of the team, literally – all you need to do is wear England colours, kit or face paint and you can grab yourself a free drink."

The Greene King chain offered free pints for England and Wales fans during the men's football world cup last year.

The pub was giving out free drinks to lucky punters who share a surname with any of the 50 members of the two national squads.

Drinks aren't the only freebie fans could have picked up during the World Cup.

Krispy Kreme was giving away free hot drinks and a box of 12 glazed doughnuts on England’s match days.

The more matches England won, the more doughnuts they’ll dish out.

And there was a bigger reason to head to Maccies – it was giving away free World Cup backpacks plus goodies like mugs, footballs and water bottles.

There were 300 prizes up for grabs. Fans needed to plug details into the website and keep your fingers crossed.

Football fans aren't the only ones who can get freebies this week.

Many brands are offering free food to students to celebrate A-Level results day today (August 17).

Restaurant groups often run exclusive discounts for certain groups of customers to draw in more business.

For example, Nando's is offering students a free starter or quarter chicken when they show their results slip at the till.

But you'll have to spend at least £7 to bag the freebie and it's only available in-restaurant and via walk-in collection.

Students can nab a free dessert at any Bill's restaurant upon showing their student ID and proof of results.

But you'll have to buy a main to claim the freebie, and it is only available from 11.30am and in-restaurant. Mains start from £12.95.
