At Monday night’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards, Madonna‘s daughter Lourdes Leon walked the red carpet in a white tulle dress with a bustier-style bodice by Luar, one of this year’s finalists.
Leon’s look was reminiscent of her superstar mother’s sexy bridal attire from the 1984 MTV Video Music Awards, where she performed “Like a Virgin” and promptly made pop culture history.
Like Madonna, Leon, 22, finished her look with matching statement earrings and a glossy lip, although she kept the elbow-length lace gloves and piles of pearls at home.
She also took a page out of her mom’s beauty playbook by skipping the razor, showing off her armpit hair and unshaven legs while posing for photos.
Back in 2011, Madonna explained her anti-shaving stance in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar: “Going to high school, I saw how popular girls had to behave to get the boys. I knew I couldn’t fit into that,” she said. “So I decided to do the opposite. I refused to wear makeup, to have a hairstyle. I refused to shave. I had hairy armpits.”
The “Music” singer also proudly flaunted her pits on Instagram in 2014, captioning the snap, “Long hair…… Don’t Care!!!!!!”
